Last we heard marketing had took it and went off somewhere with it, LOL. I was hoping to see it pre-release so that my elf would have vallaslin corresponding to the deity I wanted. As it is I'm done my first playthrough and on to a second and chances are my elf is running around with tats meaning the opposite of what I'm after

This is really important. It's a core part of the Elven lore and is extremely important for those of us that take roleplaying seriously.
Haha, I came out of my self-imposed ban of DAI (until I can get the chance to play it... but now I might wait for a patch after hearing about the issues) just to find out if these meanings had been released. I heard the same thing about over-excited marketing! I hope they didn't get distracted by dealing with bug fallout...

They still haven't released this? I was on media blackout (and technically still am), so I had to just pick the one that looked coolest, but I was impressed that they were actually working on giving us a guide... but you say they never did it? What happened?
The claim is that 'marketing ran off with it.'
The most likely fact is that the person who was working on it shelved the project or just didn't have any time to devote to it, so made an excuse and it's just laying somewhere half-finished.
