The worst thing about it, for me, is that my Qunari's chin is constantly clipping through.

Also, the boots. What in the world is up with these fur boots? They're really distracting, they look like they belong in the 60s or something.

Oh god, I know, it's AWFUL! My qunari character's chin is CONSTANTLY clipping through his dumb collar. It totally ruined the scene where he wakes up after the events at Haven and Giselle sings that song... It would have been such a powerful scene but the clipping was so distracting!

Also, my character looks FAT when he slouches in the chair in his skin tight pajamas. Its not a flattering look at all. I'd like it more if the outfit were black or navy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  I could deal with the causal clothes if I could change the color.  The design is actually pretty good, but the colors are bland and awful.  Folks have been calling those clothes PJs since before the game came out.

I agree. The outfit is bland and looks rather...non-heroic. And hey, if they're gonna be pajamas, I'd at least like them pink with white polka dots. ;)

If i had to be stuck in one outfit , I'd rather wear something like this, even as mage

Bonus points that her hand hovers in the air above her chest when she's asleep (yes, I have a screenshot of that one.)

Thats because in most cutscenes all characters use the same animations no matter the race or gender.

The tailcoat issue isn't a good excuse. The tailcoats move with the legs when you run. Either they have physics or they have bones for animation. Where they physic'd it should be a non-issue. If animated and they clip through the body up towards the front when you're sitting down, it means its a poor animation job. People who design the armor weighted the vertices to the pelvis bones. All in all, its a shoddy way to do it, and something you'd see in 3-4-5 year old games.
I'd wager we have the old consoles to thank for this issue and the rest of the shoddy animations in this game.

All in all, this f*up really hinders my enjoyment of the game. You just look so f*ing foolish.

I don't care if you're playing an elf, a qunari, a dwarf or a human, male or female, NONE of them look good. NONE of them look any less ridicule.

When the camera views the character from the sides, your inquisitor is showing skin in the bottom slits of his shirt. His pants don't even go a proper height. This is what you expect from night wear, not from a fancy outfit.

We're the leader of the Inquisition. We shouldn't be wearing CASUAL outfits. If we're not going to wear armor because of some bogus technical issue, we should bloody well be wearing something worthy of our station.

There is 0 excuse for this.

Zero excuse. The animated clothes like that in the first dark souls, not the second and that game has a pretty small production budget compared to DA.

I honestly thought I'd eventually get to customize the casual/town outfit like you can in Mass Effect... but I guess not. One of the many unfinished or cut features I'd imagine

I bet this is something sneaky EA would charge money for... though at least there's no day 1 DLC, but if they're saving content for DLC and waiting to release it, that's just as wrong.

I am not sure if I understand right. Do you usually not judge people in your pajamas? Am I the only one who does this?

Loved how we could change clothes in Mass Effect 3, both aboard the ship and in the apartment B)

Worst thing is, Vivienne notes that your clothes don't suit your stature and offers to take you shopping next time your in Val Royaux. But nothing ever comes of it.

Naturally. During the week I do it nude or in a suit. Keep 'em on their toes.

I think the outfit was from the blacksmith. Cause when you first talk to him in Haven, he asks you how the gear fits and you can reply. So blame him. xD

I share the same sentiments: when passing judgement our Inquisitor  should be in her/his armor and not casual clothing.  Walking around Skyhold in that is unfavorable; everyone else is in their armor and not the Inquisitor, the chief?  I understand it is a home to her (him), but it is also a place where she meets with her advisors and other important people who come to see her/him.  While the Inquisitor is in his or her room, she can switch to casual clothing, however, when our Inquisitor walks out of her/his room she should be in the armor she last wore prior to entering Skyhold.  Please Bioware, think on this. Thanks.

Now that I think about it, the Inquisitor is an easy target in Skyhold.

Conspirator: Now...go to Skyhold and put an end to our "beloved" Inquisitor.

Assassin: *nods*

Conspirator: He/She should be easy enough to find. Just look for the only person in Skyhold not in armor. *cackles and rubs hands together*

Considering the events that lead us to Skyhold in the first place, you have to wonder what it'll take for the inquisitor to learn his lesson.

I blame my parents. They kept my dalish elf in a really tiny cage under the aravels his whole life, so he's a little sheltered. Then Iron Bull gave him a bear hug, and now his arms are broken and deformed for the rest of his life. (my two current head canons. =P)

When I first saw the one-size fits all skin tight beige co-ordinate with Matrix-like gold plug points in very interesting places, my character was waking up and had evidently been sleeping in it. So... my first thought is, "wow... that's really elaborate sleep gear." Then I noticed my character decided to not get changed (no place to do so) after the frightful elf disappears to never be seen again. Hmmm. This outfit doesn't look like something I'd pack myself, I'm Daelish, not Orlesian. I'm all about nature, forests, leaves... not golden clasps, leather buckles and two-piece leather sleep sets. Nor was I wearing this when I blacked out at that first rift, and I was a prisoner prior to that, so unlikely I arrived in Haven with a suitcase, so Cassandra must've have told someone strip me of my armour, and pour my body into this skin tight outfit while unconscious. A little bit presumptuous on her part. I wonder who was the previous owner.

Then I get to Skyhold where the music incessantly and dramatically drums on that WAR IS APPROACHING  da-da-DA-da-DUM! da-da-DA-da-DUM! da-DA-DUM! ... da-da-dum. Even when I'm in the garden picking flowers. da-da-da-DA-DUM! Epic flower picking! Or shopping. da-da-da-DUM-DA-DA-DUM-DA! Serious shopping. That blank rune is going to be epic. Then I visit my love interest for some one-on-one romance. da-da-da-DUM-DUM-DUM-DAAAAA. Cupid's armed and dangerous. What's happening in the undercroft? DUM-DUM-DUM-DUM. All the while everyone around me is dressed appropriately for the mood the music is beating on about... while I am still wearing someone else's very casual and unstatesman-like clothes sentencing people to death from one of my dozen thrones.

It's a pity I cannot wear the drapes. At least there I can choose a Daelish design. ;)

/tongue in cheek

/sad but true

I absolutely HATE that music. I thought it was a qlitch and combat music was stuck on a loop... WTH bioware

I absolutely agree with this post.

The Star Trek pyjamas looks out of place, out of context and simply ridiculous when showing up at the War Table and everyone else has their full gear on.

Consider sitting on the judgement throne in your armor? Badass! In your PJ's? Not so much.

Really silly move there, Bioware! There is no reason at all to forcefully strip our character of his/her armor.

This is supposed to be a ROLE PLAYING game, yo!

LMAO - Star trek pj's... ha!

....

Conspirator: I CAN'T FIND THE INQUISITOR

Inquisitor with pajamas: LOL.

Also... love roleplaying game trailers where people stab maps with daggers. Very useful and entirely true. There are so many maps in museums that have been stabbed. There is this old Italian map and you can barely see Rome the amount of times an invader (or vacationer) had that map and stabbed that city. :P

hehe

I just wish my Inquisitor would just figure out how to use the damn throne properly in the first place! And if Josephine would stop trying to dig herself into the floor.

Spoiler

I mean, I know you're an elf and everything Inquisitor and it must be hard learning all these human customs and stuff, but would someone please tell her how to sit on a throne properly?!

But with the pyjamas thing, I just pretend Solas magicked the Inquisitor into wearing pyjamas so they can dream better. One day you'll walk into Skyhold and everyone will be wearing pyjamas, and Solas will be sitting in his little room, rubbing his hands and going "Yesss... now you can all dream... precious, precious dreams..." When this happens, all the tea in Skyhold will also disappear. :D

I'm guessing the outfit is mandatory because it doesn't cause any issues in Skyhold's cutscenes. I had one cutscene where the front coat-tails of my Inquisitor's outfit were floating out in front of him for ages because he was sitting down. It looked ridiculous and spoilt an important scene. I'd rather have had the Inquisitor wearing the Skyhold outfit in that scene since it would have prevented that cinematic glitch.

Being able to recolour the outfit would be nice, though.

Yes, it is pretty clear that the Skyhold outfit was implemented to allow more animations like sitting. However, WHY in the name of all that is holy, did it have to be Star Trek pyjamas???

Not only would it look stupid in any game, even in Mass Effect, it does not fit in the setting of Dragon Age at all. It's just ridiculous.
