I was JUST going to say they already have someone to make fart jokes and that's Sera. I'm glad I read all the way through. LOL

I liked Oghren too. My favorite scene of him is at the beginning of Awakening when you burst into the room where he's fighting darkspawn, then he turns and gives you a cheery wave and a cheesy grin before turning around to finish his fight. Who knows? Maybe we'll see him again.

Giving an elf to make fart jokes is just a smack in the face to true oghren fans who prefer it was the dwarf himself and not some wannabe. Still I very much doubt it, seeing as how he was not even mentioned in DA2 and DA3. I'd have more respect for Bioware if they came out and said they didn't like Oghern.

My headcanon until such time BioWare contradicts it somehow is that the Hero of Ferelden took Oghren, Nathaniel and Velanna with her when she went to look for a cure for the Calling. They even make a balanced party! It would make sense for her to take her Awakening companions with her, since they're all Wardens too. (Sigrun was dead in my 'canon' world state, and we already know what happened to Anders and Justice.)

I'd like to know is were the writers really that stupid that they forgot to mention Oghren in both Dragon Age 2 and 3? It's bad enough that your warden gets all the talk and he/she is still a no show in DA2 and DA3.

Just say no to Oghren.  If he is featured in a DLC that is certainly a DLC I will not buy.

Fine that is your own choice, im sure myself and other TRUE Oghren Fans would want to by it and have entire closure for our favorite Dwarf from Origins.

True Oghren Fans? You keep talking about closure, but sound perfectly fine with Oghren being a nasty drunk, no matter how much you helped him in Origins. I got my closure in Origins, when my Warden sacrificed himself and Oghren sobered up and named his son after me.

Awakening was a slap in the face to "TRUE Oghren Fans."

I really don't understand the purpose of this thread...

What's not to understand? This a complaint topic that Oghern is MIA with no mention of his whereabouts? And all im seeing are people saying "Oghren is a terrible dwarf" and so forth. Im sorry but there are others out there besides me that want the entire closure of Oghren's fate in Dragon Age outside of Origins. As i said before i'd have more respect for writers of Bioware if they come out and said they didn't like Oghren.

Wrong... Giving an elf named Sera to make fart jokes is a smack in the face to true oghren fans who prefer it was the dwarf himself and not some wannabe. As i said, i'd like to know how Oghren's new wife Felsi and kid are doing. (if persuaded to be part of their lives) and so on. Is that too much to ask?

You're completely missing the point.

And what point is that? That Bioware forsakened Oghren in favor of Varric and thought he made a better character so much that Oghren doesn't deserve any mention at all no matter what choices you make in origins and awakening?

Oghren is a Warden, though. stationed in Ferelden, so he doesn't tie into the main plot in DA:I very well. Then again neither does Blackwall, I guess. Maybe they could have replaced him with Oghren, I dunno. I like both of them.

That makes absolutely no sense. Haven, where the rift was, is in Ferelden. =/

Yes Forsakened.... means bioware ->abandoned<- him in favor of Varric let alone made no mention of the said character. I get it now you're just like the rest of those Oghren haters...

I don't care, why bother making the Keep then if it so say to fans "Flock off!" in the end.

I would've prefered cameos side quests rather than some big empties farming/grinding areas that serve for nothing just to consume our time.

Why prisoner in ostagar is in keep then? They said already not every choice in keep is relevant.

It only hurts setting if you keep spamming every game and product with previous characters because world looks like it have 100 km and only 1000 peoples living in it.

I thought that DAI did pretty good with reappearances of old characters. Some characters play an important role which fleshes out their personal development, some characters are referenced, for some, their role depends on your previous decision, and some simply don't play any role anymore.

Oghren was one of the latter. So was, I believe, Zevran. Or Velanna. And others. It happens.

Forsakened doesn't mean anything. Forsakened isn't a word. You're looking for Forsook, which is the past tense of Forsaken, which is what you would use to say they "abandoned" Oghren for Varric.

And on the contrary: I loved Oghren. Which is why I understand that Awakening destroyed him as a character.

Kinda wishing he was one of the options to be Hawke's friend in the wardens, if he was recruited.  If not, then Stroud.

Hawke: But...Felsi...

Oghren: She'll get by, if I know her.

That's exactly the type of cutscene i was referring too that SHOULD have been implemented in the DA3. It would be better then what we have already.

And another thing, Awakening destroyed Oghren as a character? In what way? His paranoia about eyeball eating pants? I thought that was funny I mean hasn't anyone ever played a prank on you making you think it's real? Trying to hook him up with Felsi and his kid after he joined the wardens? i thought it was the right thing to do to have his kid not think of Oghren as a bad father and have him be a hero in the kid's eyes.

Eh, in my game he had closure. After Awakening he went back to the love of his life.

I liked Loghain's cameo, Stroud is less a character and more a placeholder, and haven't seen Warden!Alistair yet.  Whatever is going on with the wardens I think isn't Coryepheus, and based on Last Flight, has been going on a lot longer.  Hopefully we'll get better DA1 cameos next game or more warden-centric DLC.

That's exactly my point! At the end of Origins you help him sober up and he vows to change his life around. Has a baby with Felsi, becomes a respected member of Dwarven society again, the whole thing. Then Awakening comes around and he's a nasty drunken slob again?

Makes ZERO sense and completely cheapens him as a character and the actions you took to help put him on the right path.

not really i mean he's a warden already so did Oghren go with the rest of the southern wardens to Adamant when they heard the calling made by Corypheus? If so shouldn't he at least have made a cameo of sorts? Is he already dead by the battle of Adamant? Or did he go with your Warden to find a cure for the calling? it's questions like these that i don't like left unresolved.

That's a dumb thing to say, im sure there was Marriage troubles with Oghren and Felsi which is why he bailed out on her to join the Wardens. That is why you were given the option to set him straight and make him the better father that he should be.
