That's dumb thing to say, im sure there was Marriage troubles with Oghren and Felsi which is why he bailed out on her to join the Wardens. That is why you were given the option to set him straight and make him the better father that he should be.

The fact that you have to guess and insert your own assumptions just shows how horribly it was handled.

And thanks for respecting everyone's opinions in this thread. It's always appreciated. /sarcasm

Oh please like you know any better. if you loved Oghren as you claimed, why haven't you made any complaints about it?

Because there's more to life than angrily complaining on an internet forum.

Would I have liked to see Oghren in DA:I? Yeah. Was I disappointed when he wasn't mentioned? Of course. Was it enough to make me curse the name of BioWare and their writing team? Not even close.

Maybe not you, but Im sure others do if they feel cheated of their faveroute characters with no metion of their whereabouts. Besides im sure the Devs read this stuff here on these boards all the time and take whatever is said and add it as a DLC or the next game.

It's not Oghren that im mad about, NOT having Bodhan and Sandal in it is worse, since their amount of impact on the last two games, being your trade/travel/camp buddies and main enchanter bros. That, and how Sandal predicted the ending to Inquisition. Like, geez, the devs need to stop being so self-conscious about their characters. We all pay the same amount of money for their games.

They've continually said that Dragon Age isnt the continuing Adventures of the HoF and their friends.

While this is true, many end up with prolific careers after the Blight and become important people outside of their relationship to the hero/champion.

You may be right, by the next game we might have another Protagonist that will make you forget about your inquisitor as well.

This. I've loved the characters we've met in the past games, but I want to explore more of the world and meet different and interesting people.

How could anyone not like this guy? Oghren helped stop the archdemon, he even helped stop a hurlock broodmother who was subjected to an awakening by The Architect. How does that not make him famous?

Most people seemed upset by his writing in Awakening, Perhaps they redeem it by saying he rose through the warden ranks, becoming a well-regarded commander?

Of course, I'd have just settled for chatting with Felsi and Nugget.

Felsi: Haven't heard from the sodding lush since he went to Weisshaupt...sorry, I'm distracted.  Did you need something?

I was more upset that the tavern in Redcliff wasn't called the Warden's Rest or...something.

Thanks for writing that, but i wish David Gaider or Jay Turner or Sheryl Chee or Mary Kirby would mention of the said Character in Dragon Age 3 rather then not have anything said about him at all.

Because when you take the Joining you get knocked out / have visions of some sort. Not to mention right before Oghren took it a guy DIED AT HIS FEET. Oghren was literally taking a gamble of life and death and what does he do? Belches and goes "Is that all"!?

IS THAT ALL?! HELLO! Wake up, ya dumb dwarf! Not only do you have no Stone sense, you have no sense period!

*Breathes*

Aside from Awakening, he was one of the few who had no real goal after all was said and done. His character is all but crippled now, thanks to Awakening, and there's no real point in bringing him back, imo.

It's cool to have characters that you know and love show up, but it gets ridiculous when you play a game and see EVERYBODY again. Not everybody is going to be part of the main story because they have other things to do. It's not all about the current crisis at hand.

I find it unlikely that those involved in the fifth blight would just drop off the face of the earth.  I would prefer talking with them directly, but war table missions, codex entries, party banter, NPC banter...just something.

This is also true, but unless they got something planned for later, fans are seeing room for a mention.  Making him one of Hawke's potential warden-friends for instance, a grousing Felsi hinting that not all is well in Weisshaupt, etc.

Did anyone else find the letter addressed to Endrin?  Was that Rica and Bhelan's kid, or what?

We will never hear Steve Blum's angelic voice in Dragon Age.

Agreed, It just plain stupid for the writers to drop Oghren off the face of the earth with no mention of his whereabouts. I'll agree with varric, "That's idiotic" on Bioware's part. And since we don't have a direct answers on that front, the best we can get is looking at the games themselves and do "the math" so to speak.

Considering they dropped the ball on Oghren's writing in Awakening, I'm ok with him not appearing ever again.

Again, not every character is busy saving the world. They might be enjoying life again because fighting is kinda rough, risky, and isn't incredibly enjoyable.

That's fine if you don't want him back, but at least that Dwarf deserves a mention for crying out loud. How would you feel if your warden never got a mention at all?

For me, it's not just Oghren, it's all of them.  By far the thing that annoyed me the most was the tavern in Redcliff not referencing the Arl of Redcliff mission in anyway, neither having Bella nor Lloyd running it, nor having it called the Warden's Rest, because it set the tone for call-backs for the rest of the game.

It's possible that Oghren is at Weisshaupt.  It occurred to me that whatever was going on with the wardens was probably not entirely Coryepheus, that Last Flight suggests it's been going on for a long time, and then Weisshaupt goes dark.

 ...how was a demon army supposed to help the wardens in the first place?

I guess the Developers so called vow to their fans that, compared to its predecessors, the decisions they made throughout the series will have a greater impact on the story and that the player will be given more control over their gaming experience was nothing but a bold faced lie.

First off, you're comparing an essential key character to a side character that really has no impact, and depending on the play through, fine. If he died, he's a part of a history and goes off into a book somewhere never to be heard of again aside from "That guy who beat the blight".

And why does he deserve this mention, aside from being your beloved character from Origins. What did he do to deserve it? Because from my perspective, he didn't do anything.

If one didn't recruit him I'm okay with him not being mentioned.  If he died, I at least want Felsi mentioning how she told him so.  If he's a warden, I at least want to hear a recruit saying, "Of course I'm good with an axe.  The head of training at my outpost is this old, drunken dwarf that helped end the blight.  He doesn't take combat training lightly."
