Greetings fellow ME gamers,

I have a fix for the "No supported languages found. Please contact Bioware" error during installation.
I first tried to do a manual install that was possible with ME1 (extracting the .rar files manually, etc.), but had issues with flickering GUI and a crash after the intro sequence.

This is for Win7, but should also work for Vista and XP (but the path for step 3 may be different)

Heres is what i did to get a proper install:
1. Copy all files from DVD1 and DVD2 to a folder on your computer. (I actually just copied DVD1 first and waited for it to ask for DVD2 in the install, till i copied the rest)
2. Run Setup.exe, the error will show up again.. don't close the window yet!
3. Go to C:\\Users\\yourUser\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\MassEffect2Temp. There should be a file named Install.exe
4. Copy the Install.exe file to your setup folder from step 1
5. Run install.exe and it should start the setup. :)

Hope this can help a few people, as I know I'm not the only one who had this issue.

The search offered quite a few hits, but not many were about this particular problem and this game.

"Your search for « found » returned 21 result/s."

"Your search for « language » returned 30 result/s."

Those two are strictly Mass Effect 2.  It is entirely possible, however, that the distributor in Europe is the same for both Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2, so you probably should widen your thread search to include those from Dragon Age as well.

I have searched both dragon age and mass effect games forums as i had the same notion as yourself. Still no reply from the distributor or retailer but have had a reply from EA just simply telling me to contact the distributor as i did not buy it from EAstore...

I have searched loads of different websites and forums (including this one) for the answer and there seems to be a fair few cases of this problem but now solution offered.

If Origins wont let you download, take it up with EA support, as there is nothing we can do to help you here for smoething that isnt game related.

As the forum description clearly states;

Mass Effect 2 PC Technical Support (Spoilers Warning)
This forum is for fans and owners of Mass Effect 2 on the PC to assist each other with technical questions. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts, but fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here.

If you are unwilling to accept that as the truth, then follow this procedure.
Go to Bioware's website.
Under Games, click on Mass Effect 2, to visit the ME2 website.
Scroll down the bottom, click on Customer Support, and be taken to the Support website.

Hey, look, its EA support. Who'da thunk it?
