did you set which of their abilities to prioritize in the menu? do you have them following or defending you?

I have the same problem atm.

Mana reserve set to 0%

Vivienne never casts fire mine or wall of fire even when set to preferred. Other party-members being ultra-conservative on spell and ability usage, again on 0% mana/stamina reserved.

There is an rare bug where combat AI stops working. I was hit by the bug around 3-4 times over my 100+ hours. Make an savegame an load this savegame solved the issue for me.

restarting the game after a long play through will help this problem.
