In light of a popular thread in this forum section called "Most Hated Companions" I'd like to move the discussion to more brighter shades, share your favourite companions in DA:I and explain why, I will also do so myself:
I will begin from my most favourite character, to the least, (optional :I have also added a scoring mechanism which indicates how much I enjoy this character in contrast to other characters in fiction, on a scale of 0-10)
1.Dorian: He's just such a sweetheart, the noble rich kid escaping his life of relative priviledge to do what he believes is right. His personality is charming, his personal story engaging and relatable and spending time with him is always rewarding: wether listening to his witty banter, or learning more about his gentle soul concealed by sarcasm and comedic narcissism (9.5)
2.Solas: Solas is a one of a kind character, it shows from the moment you meet him.Unlike most Dragon Age characters, he isn't pushing an extreme personality that you either love or hate, instead, he is calm, collected, wise and thinks about his words and actions, how they affect himself and others. He truly is a mystery, even after the reveal at the end of the game.He is a fascinating person, and I could listen to him talk for hours. (9.5)
3.Cole: His childish innocence, curiosity and purpose to help ore truly captivating. This spirit of compassion is truly something special, and exploring the nature of his existance, and the "hurt" of other people he hears never cease to entertain me and make me think. (9)
4.Cassandra: A true friend to my Inquisitor. She has admirable values and fights for what she believes is right. She thinks trough her actions and gets the job done.Cassandra is a strong backbone to the Inquisition who still manages to be fun, inspiring and even has a romantic side to her (9)
5.Iron Bull: This character is found at a crossroads. Is he a Ben-Hassrath truly loyal to the Qun, his homeland and his people?Or is the life he lives as a spy, The Iron Bull: leader of the bull's charger, the life he prefers?Do his men mean more to him than the Qun?All these questions are wonderfully explored with this complex character and my Inquisitor surely enjoys having the bull at his side to crush things. 6.Vivienne, Madame the Fer, First Enchanter of the Imperial court, also dubbed "Ma'am": A truly fascinating character.A commoner who realised that through deception, ruthlessnes and mastering the game could ascend to a high social position. She is always entertaining with her snark, sass and wit that could also be described as "Bitchyness". (9)
7. Sera: ...was never an agreeable girl...ta da ta da ta da da...Well here we have a character that is completely crazy, yet once you spend more time with her, you begin to understand her more and more. She is simply FUN, damaged and insane, but FUN.She has more depth than one might expect and she always brings a chuckle or two while she's in your party. (9)
8.Varric: Ugh, I feel so terrible for putting Varric so low on my list.I love Varric, he's friggin awesome, he's funny, witty and easily relatable.Having Varric in your party is always great, as he always manages to cheer you and your companions up with his stories. The reason why he's so low on this list is purely because I am more excited for the "new" companions, I already bromanced Varric in DA:2, the other characters were simply that more intriguing.Nonetheless, Varric FTW! 9. Blackwall: I liked Blackwall, though he felt boring and bland in comparison to the other companions.Yeah, he's the good warrior guy with a dark past who wants to redeem himself by being honorable and good, I have seen that character already countless times. He certainly isn't a bad character by any standard, he is just maybe a bit too vanilla for my tastes (7.5)
