Romancing my Disney princess at the moment, I like Josie. I am a bit concerned that after the sofa and fireplace scene there is nothing else that would come of it. If I get to go on dates or even dinner in val Rayeux that would be nice.
Cassandra vs. Josephine - Your preference?

She's actually very interested in romance it turns out. Very traditional.

Well I am not finished with the game yet but suspect I am very close, and further pursuit of my chosen romance is among the few things left on my to-do list before completion...
Okay, so I am finally through ...
** spoilers ahoy!! **
Well, Cassandra was in it, and she is awesome -- that is reason enough for me to like the romance. Not sure I feel more strongly about it than mere liking, though. Initiation was weird. Having waited 'til after her companion quest, she then tells me that she noticed "the flirting," though it had been a long while since I had done that, so there was this continuity issue. Next up, I had to go get candles, flowers, and a poetry book... smh.
You know, for all the complaining over fetch-quests in ME3, at least you could skip those for no loss of meaningful content. In this game, your romance, your spec, even one of the core missions requires you to go fetch fetch fetch -- maddening!! Well, alright, I fetched all that garbage. Once ready, I go and have Cass meet me in private, then I -- to her surprise -- read her poetry in a romantic atmosphere ... except the poetry is awful. I am no expert on the topic, but when I heard the lines of this poem I was just like "Oh god, please tell me she's not seriously taken by any of this." And, she wasn't, thankfully, but that really took away from the moment for me by creating this disconnect between myself and my character who somehow thought this poem was worthy. And, the nudity, I am glad to see this change finally, but it was just... there, not really implemented well at all.
It had its moments: the dance, that scene on the ramparts. I will be trying it again, seeing if I can smooth it out a bit, and maybe experiencing it under more relaxed conditions will help me appreciate it more (on my first run of any game I just want to push on ahead). But for now, my verdict on this romance is: good. Like, it gets 7 on a scale of 1-10, where 5 is an average (academic C) grade. [Note that I only ever use whole numbers when giving grades; no decimal BS. I ain't about that life.]

I think the best way to do it is take your time with the fetch quest portion. I did it all immediately because I didn't know how much romance content there was after the actual romance scene (answer: not much) and accordingly finished the romance before even starting Adamant or Orlais. Now that I know how to space it out I'll probably wait until after Adamant or something.

Cassandra.
Josephine's romance is too comical for my tastes. Though would have preferred to romance Leliana since she's a different person now than DAO, would like to see my Inquisitor bring her back to her "twee tums" nature and.... Schmooples lol.

How do you get around the fact that characters in-game clearly refer to Anders' as a separate character from the Inquisitor?
EDIT:
I liked Cassandra's character and I thought there were tons of funny (and occasionally very sweet) moments with the flirt dialogue and the way she resists you right up until you romance her. Then there's really not much more to say and every time you start a conversation with her she just says "it's wonderful to see you again, my love" which some people might like but it felt too different from her character, plus the line delivery is quite wooden every time she refers to you as "my love". It just sounds so... insincere, even though that was clearly not the intention.
Storywise: Anders found a home with GRAY WARDENS, Justice felt in Kristoff's lover's arms... DA2 Anders could only be an imposter created by justice himself

Seriously though, never having played any DA games before, I found Cassandra to be an extremely well-written and well-rounded character (among the best in a Bioware game, to my mind). Josephine, far less so.

From a gay man perception, I watched streams where people romanced either Cassandra or Josephine. Both have their endearing traits. Cassandra is pretty old fashioned and loves being wooed even though she won't admit it while Josie is your secret fangirl that just wants you to succeed. Josie is a sweet character and I hope people will give her some chance in the romances. Cassandra as well. I'm planning to make two separate playthroughs just for them, but I believe I will play a lesbian character for Josephine as I love gay romances.

I've been told (and seen some vids) that while Josie lacks a nude-sex scene, choosing her offers a very Princess Bride style of 'leap into your arms' style of romantic love affair, and there is a fade to black that leaves interpretation up to the player as to how intimate Josie and the Quizzie get. I'm a sucker for romance, and while Cassandra seems to also be a closet-romanticist, I'm very tempted to romance Josie on my next playthrough simply because she's sweetly honest and supportive, not damaged or angsty.

I'm a straight male, so Cassandra and Josephine are my only viable choices.
I've never really got that, I'm a straight male....my first Inquisitor is a human female warrior who romanced Josephine. My canon Warden (for my first Inquisition playthough) was a human female mage who romanced Alistair, my canon Hawke (Ist Inq' playthough) is a female warrior who romanced Isabella. My male and female Wardens/Hawkes have romanced males and females in various combinations....maybe thats why I'm not bothered by the 'only' two straight romance choices.

I've quite enjoyed it, including the duel and it kind of fits for her character that your looking at more of a permanent thing with Josephine, I half expected to have a chaperone for our garden get togethers.....well we did after Morrigan and the kid arrived, at least she keeps her back turned.

Josephine, a million times Josephine. Without exaggerating too much, I think she has been my favourite romance in the series!
Not to say there is anything wrong with Cass, Josephine just melted my cold, stoney heart haha.

I personally vote for Cassandra, because... well.. I was actually quite upset that Cassandra was a straight romance option, I was fangirling from the start to romance her rofl
I don't care who I romance with my FemQuisitors, I WILL and I SHALL pick ALL the heart dialogues with Cassie ![]()
Josie is also adorable though, don't get me wrong. It just depends on what you like more; serious/romantic (Cassandra) or cute/disney-esque (Josephine).

Both are unattractive and dull; just play a gay dude, a lesbian and a straight female; all their romances are better. Straight male here.

My canon characters make decisions that I would make. Therefore, my characters are straight males. I definitely role-play as characters who aren't the same gender or share the same values, but my "canon" role-plays are basically me.

I'd have to say I'm probably inclined to agree with you, having finally finished it. There is definitely more to the romance after the Duel/Couch scene. I was a big Cass romance fan for my first two playthroughs, but having done Josies the third I think she may be my canonical romance for this game. It also helps that the end scene doesn't leave much to interpretation like Cassandra's. The happy ending was a nice touch.

I did Josephine romance in my first playthrough... It was dull and cheesy... But Jo is adorable in a way....
I'll try cassandra but she's so manly ...
Seriously, best romance of all Dragon Age time was Morrigan. Shame we can't bang her in Inquisition x)

I wish there were more special interaction scenes and quests with all companions.
I thought I would not like Cass, she was so aggressive and scary in the trailers. And I really do have an issue with organized religion in real life, because of all the so-called religious people who can talk the talk but not walk the walk.
But Cassandra's strength of character, and her conviction, not just in faith, but in her wish and drive to do right, really drew me in.
And Josephine may appear to be a gentle sweetheart at first glance. But as you go deeper, her sense of love and duty to her family and the inquisition, her professionalism and wiliness in juggling all the other players of the game, as well as her unshakable morale and character despite being surrounded by the lairs and cheats of high society, became her more defining characteristics.
I am of the wrong gender and sexuality to romance either lady, but in the end I respected both greatly, and am glad my inquisitor had them to save the world with.

Josephine is bisexual, Cass is the only one who is gender locked.
