Even though I loved Cassandra in the DA animated movie, here in the game both Cass and Josie are quite unappealing.

On my first playthrough I went for Josie, but didn't finish her romance route. I know she looks like a cute and innocent girl, and somewhere deep inside she is a strong lady who would go for any length for her family and friends, but it just wasn't for me. I guess I prefer the one's with the hard shells like Morrigan, Isabelle and Cassandra. I know they are nothing like each other, but there is at least one thing common in them. They have a hard time accepting their soft and caring sides, and the fact that they could be in a serious relationship.

To be honest, I wish we could romance Leliana. I didn't really like her in the Origins as a romance option, but she is without doubt the best character in the DA trilogy when it comes to depth of personality. From a passionate bard to a cheeky Chantry sister in the Origins, from the trusted Left Hand of the Divine, to become a cynical, hollow shell of herself in DA:I. Well, maybe in a DLC...:/

I didn't get the feeling that they were still together. Sure he was important to her, but it's not like her true love was murdered and taken away from her.

They most certainly weren't. Cassandra confirmed in her banter with Varric that her relationship with Regalyan ended several years ago, and even back then the relationship was "fleeting". She's just sad that yet another person that she cares about is taken away from her.

None, but since I wanted the trophy I chose the one who resembles a woman.

My first run was with a femInquisitor and I intended to romance Cass, not knowing she's straight. They way she lets you down is pretty funny. Luckily I had time to ask Betty er.. Josephine out and it was a pleasant romance, from the shared kiss at the Imperial Ball to just cuddling around the fire. Playing a Manquisitor this time to sweep Cass off her feet and I was a bit surprised how quickly they got it on, but it's handled well and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm curious what happens when the Divine's successor issue comes up.

I didn't say that they were.

I like both romances, but choose Josephine because I prefer her personality and she's not too dedicated to her faith.

Agreed, giving her long hair and removing the scar it wouldn't be Cassandra anymore.

Yeah, if you essentially agree with Cassandras stance on the chantry and mages, she will end up becoming the next Divine in the end of the game which hints at an end to the romance. The only way you can romance Cass and have her stay (not become divine) is by freeing the mages, and choosing anti chantry dialogue (mages need freedom, the chantry failed, chantry should die, etc. Also you have to choose the "I don't want the same thing" option in the dialogue exchange where she expresses her ideals for a future chantry. Telling her "there are other ways to help the chantry" once she has been declared a candidate also helps prevent her from sitting on the sunburst throne.)

I was able to get Cassandra to stay without choosing anti-chantry dialogue. I was mostly diplomatic/neutral, although I supported her decisions. Leliana got the post in my first playthrough.

I thought the length of time was appropriate, just before Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts for me. But then I'm romancing her with a mage  inq who wants to set them free.

There was a kiss scene with Josepine at the Winter Palace? Where? All I got with regards to the romance was a comment from her sister, and a dance at the end.

Wit the Cass romance, once Mother Giselle brings the news that they are being looked at you get to talk to her about it. You get dialogue options to dissuade her from accepting, and to try to help in another way.

Interesting. Just goes to show we still don't know as much as we'd like when it comes to selecting a candidate.

I've finally started Inquisition. Already, Cassandra and I have a rocky relationship. Constant approvals and disapprovals. I honestly don't know if it will work out. Josephine has made a great impression on me. I'm actually really tempted to romance her first, but I'm still concerned about her romance content, or lack thereof.

I did Josephine's romance in a full playthrough and then through to Cassandra's romance scene in a second, unfinished playthrough. I thought that Josephine's stuff was really great, and I was surprised at just how much dialogue there was for her. It comes up in most of the main story missions after you do it, including the one at the start of act 3. It was really touching, very romantic, and just added a really pleasant atmosphere to the campaign.

Cassandra's I had much more rocky feelings about. The romance with her happens very suddenly, and then that seemed to be it. I'm not really sure how much it came up after the actual relationship scene because I ended up rolling a different character. I liked some of the dialogue for it, so it's worth checking out, but I couldn't say how much content there actually is to it. It also has the possibility for a very depressing ending if she becomes the new Divine, which is a bummer.

In fact, if anyone is aware of how much dialogue there is post-romance scene for Cassandra, I'd love to know. Do other people bring it up? Does it come up in the campaign again outside of the finale?

Josie fit my Qunari nicely, the barbarian and the princess.

However, none of the romances I've seen thus far compares to how well the Solas romance integrates into the story. It's worth rolling a female elf for.

I suppose that depends when you do it. I did it before Here Lies/Wicked. I didn't take her with me to Here Lies and she mentions how terrified she was for you afterwards. I've heard some rather hilarious banters about the romance from Varric and Sera, so there's that. At the Ball you get some flirt options and a dance at the end.

I found it was very easy to heap on approval for Cassandra. You can basically net a fair number of approvals right in the prologue, and then you get greatly approved for every group you take out in her Unfinished Business Quest, not to mention the greatly approved for the book. The only time I got greatly disapproved was for the mages and the Wardens, and I was still able to max her out.

I swear i must be on of the few guys in this fanbase to actually prefer women with short hair. I just really like tomboys so its Cassandra over Josephine for me anyday. Her scars and personality is a bonus.

I'm on my 3rd, or 4th, paythrough. I can't really remember cause I started over a few times. Anyways, I have ended up romancing Cassandra every time. I just can't get into Josephine, to princessy for me. Or maybe it's the fact she looks like the wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man in that shirt.

I might catch some flack for this, but I am severly disappointed at the lack of diversity the hetero male characters get. Female hetero/lesbian characters get Cullen, Iron Bull, and Solas and Josephine and Sera respectively. Gay males get Dorian and Iron Bull. Each of the genders/sexualities get other races to romance, while hetero males get 2 humans. It would have been nice to have an elf for a safe bet, or hell, let's live a little and give us a female qunari or dwarf to romance. I wouldn't mind a conclusion to the scout Harding flirting.

Hetero males just seem to get the vanilla choices.

Yeah, sad to say, part of the thing about Josephine that irks me is that stupid outfit. I hate that this makes me feel so Orlesian.

Standing her up doesn't quite encapsulate the level of Valentine's Day heartbreak I put her through. She gave me chocolate and asked me up to the roof, where I told her that I had already planned to spend the night with Naoto, which was of course the first she was hearing of my other girl.

In between these meetings I had a date with Marie.

I really wanted to post the video of Dave Chapelle dressed as Rick James singing "Cold Blooded" but I don't want to over saturate the thread with clips, but you're ♪Cold Blooded♪.

Neither seemed particularly interesting to me. I guess Josephine is a little better to look at, and listen to.
