As someone who has romanced both (Josephine with Fem Inquisitor and Cassandra with Male Inquisitor)... I can safely say Cassandra although Josephine is up there.

Just for note, I did not think I'd like Cassandra as much for a romance as Josephine and not counting cutscenes I still feel Cassandra takes the cake here.  Josephine is adorable and I like the dialogue with her and her sister (her sister sounds even more adorable) --- however Cassandra grows on you (or me at least) much more intense.  Cassandra is good at stopping the pettiness when it's necessary where as Josephine plays too much into it... although again I like both characters Cassandra ftw.

Cassandra really, but after my inquisitor giggled like a schoolgirl during a romance talk with her, it is Josephine all the way now.

Cass was and always will be my male inquisitors canon sweetheart, her awkwardness in romance is just too cute to be true. Plus teasing her is fun~

Jossie is adorable too ofc but almost too sweet for my tastes in a same way that Cullen is when I'm playing as a fem!quisitor.

Tho gotta love the heigh difference between her and my female qunari I romanced her with. It's a beautiful thing.

I think Cassandra looks hot to be completely honest, but I always thought masculine looks for women was sexy except for big brawny muscles.

Josephine is boring and her voice got on my nerves with the overdone tongue rolls and her Disney scene was lame. I like her kiss though. It's actually well animated for once instead of the typical reused x100 Bioware kiss

Jospehine, if you can understand her, because she tends to start speaking on fastforward, she has a bigger rack, hoping to get her sister in the sauna as well.

Cassandra unfortunately is into porn, wears armour, has a sword, yikess..

Leliana gets too jealous, because she probably wanted them, such a shame that you cannot date her.

Should be an option to sample them all, the perks of being the Inquisitor, rights of the first night, Am ze law....

Real life romances I take serious, a game romance no.

Josephine I find dull so I don't bother.

Not being religious myself didn't stop me from going for Cassandra.  Allways stuck to the non believing thing and had no problems romancing her.

Religious she might be but she is also cute in her own way, overall satisfying.

A game romance is just like a movie romance. Can you not take serious a romance plot in a great movie either?

Absolutely not, which is why I wouldn't date pixels, they only have programmed emotion. Heck why not make a harem out of it, selling to the divine, own appointed heraldry, any choice is as good as the next. Curious why you cannot date the courtesan, she only takes bribes, not brides? Bizarre.

A movie however atleast you get to see a sense of emotion which depends largely on talent..

There was a thought buried somewhere in here, I just know it.

I like them both. I didn't think I'd like Cassandra before I played the game but then I found her really rewarding to get to know.  Josie is just a darling.

Josie doesn't put out.

Looks like Cassandra wins this by default!

Cassandra because her character has layers.

also the point where she actually smiles at you was one of the most memorable parts of any character romance in DA.

DA4 confirmed to only have male/male romance. Sorry straight guys that can't step outside your comfort zone. There will be several beautiful female companions but they are either married faithfully so you can't have them or lesbians, or they just think you are an ass

Neither, first Bioware game where I'm not remotely interested in any of the romances, let alone all of them.  Cassandra is too pious and up herself (and I romanced Jaheira for ****'s sake), and Josephine seems too naive and boring; although I admit I don't know as much about her, I have seen a few scenes on youtube and was not impressed.  It doesn't help that I find both of them to be unattractive, but if they had nice or interesting personalities that wouldn't be such a problem.

Well I'm basically the opposite of the OP.  I'm very religious and conservative in real life, and I like how the game allows you to play a character who is a faithful Andrastian and supportive of the Chantry.  So Cassandra is probably my favorite love interest in a BioWare game, even surpassing my previous favorite Liara.  She's a religious reformer, but she still seems conservative, relative to the Dragon Age world.  I'm impressed BioWare, for all their apparent liberalism, was able to effectively write a religious conservative-type character.

I particularly liked that one conversation where Cassandra talks about how Varric believes in the Maker, yet he would never set foot in a chantry.  She says that the Chantry should be a place where people like him feel welcome in, not one they avoid.  That was pretty insightful, and a statement I believe applies to churches today. Definitely a sentiment I could relate to.

Josephine doesn't seem bad, she's definitely more attractive to me than Isabela or Merrill were in DA2.  I just much prefer Cassandra.

Josephine was first time I was ever bored with a bioware romance. She has her moments but they are far and few between.

Time for an update. I'm romancing Cassandra. Yeah, this romance is awesome. I've been very satisfied with it. Cassandra is an impressive character all-around. She's one of my favorite BioWare characters now.

///

I'm a straight male, so Cassandra and Josephine are my only viable choices.

///

Josie is more woman than Cassie.   :kissing:

Cassie looks like a "guy with breasts".

There is only one adult romance so what is there to choose? Sweaty warrior woman who leaves you for seekers anyway. Enjoy!

Cassandra. Josephine is adorable, but I just really like Cassandra. I feel like she's more interesting and fleshed out, plus I always prefer romancing companions/squadmates. It was the same in Mass Effect.

I didn't really like either romance.

Josephine's romance was soooo tedious (and it had nothing to do with the fact that she didn't get nekkid). I didn't like her personality at all - she seemed superficial, shallow, and overly fixated on herself and her little world...not to mention being downright boring. Watching Leliana and Josephine talk about Val Royeux and The Game was like watching stereotypical sorority girls getting giddy over some "big" party they went to. By the end of my first playthrough (in which I romanced Josephine) I couldn't help but frantically search for some mission on the War Table that would send her away for good.

The first couple of flirts with Cassandra made me feel like a poorly trained puppy who insisted on humping her leg. Unlike others, I did not like how she turned kind of squishy as you romanced her...I felt her strength is what made her attractive as a person. That being said, I absolutely love her character and I find it almost impossible to not take her along on every mission. I love having her at my side when I go into battle.

So, on subsequent playthroughs I pretty much just do the Scout Harding flirts and leave it at that. Works for me...
