Got through the quest to the point where it says to track down servis in the western approach, so it takes me to echoback fort, there was 4 enemies, 2 archers, 1 Bruiser and a mage with just a staff in armor and a full helmet(which I'm guessing was servis cause he was talking like a minor boss) which i killed.  Now the quest won't continue, just keeps saying to go to the fort and when I go somewhere else and come back they all spawn except for the mage.  Anyone else having a problem getting past this point?

Yeah bugged out for me as well, no idea how to unbug it so i guess waiting for the patch is the only thing we can do.

Did you talk to Servis? He doesn't actually die. You can choose whether to leave him for dead, or take him in for judgement. Until you make the decision, the quest does not resolve.

I actually saw Servis leaving the fort and walking on air and I could not attack him and now I cannot complete the task. Luckily I am playing on a PC and able to do multiple saves (not sure if XBox or Playstation versions can do so) and though my last saves were done for Trouble with Darkspawn after that battle, I can use to the save I leave behind before I come to an area. I already have utilize those saves a couple of times with the game and though the game is as good of a RPG that I have played in the last few years, the re-starting or areas or portions of areas does get frustrating but at least I am prepared for it when bugs do arise.

Hi Guys.  appreciate your help here.
I can't event start this quest.  I was able to find the operations in the war room to get rid of the poisonous gases.  and then a new area opened. I decided not to fast travel and continue on other quests.  now when I get to the western approach map and select this quest I just find random darkspawn walking around.  I should have the option to go to the tevinter ruins but I cannot find it :(  any help will be greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, this quest is started by talking to the gent leading the fort you capture in the same area. After the fort is captured, ask him how things are going, and he'll mention the floods of darkspawn arriving ever since its capture. That'll trigger a quest for a solution. (I also had Blackwall in the party at the time, but I don't suspect he's strictly relevant beyond approving of you killing spawn.)

The same exact thing has happened to me on two different characters and I am unable to complete this quest! Servis is nowhere to be found!

After you kill everyone go back to severis and talk to him,  that is how you continue.  Its possible if you left the area it wont work.

I didn't leave the area, he didn't even spawn with the rest of the enemies.

I'm having the same problem as Kurk, I guess. I've killed multi Darkspawn but see no Servis. Heck, maybe I killed him and didn't realize it was him.

Stuck on this mission as well.  I think if you have 4 enemies in the fort, 1 should be Servis.  My issue was Servis got bashed into the terrain and I didn't realise until much later and going back 6 hours to fix this mission is a bit much.

Wish Bioware would provide console codes to enable PC players to progress missions.

If one of my companions killed Servis, how would I know? I don't micro-manage combat.

Yeah you are meant to be able to talk to Servis after the fight, he will be there mumbling away on the ground or making groaning sounds, you are meant to then talk to him but it bugged out for me too. For me he is lying on the stairs in the area with no option to talk to him. Pain in the arse!

I have seen posts about him being stuck in the sky and all sorts of places that make it impossible to talk to him! You would think him laying on the steps would allow me to talk to him but no cookie.

FInally got it to work.  I reloaded an even early save where I just got to the western approach.  When I got to the fort Servis was at the top of the stairs.  After I killed everyone I couldn't talk to him and the quest didn't finish, so I loaded the autosave that just happened when I killed him and he was still there laying on the floor.  I was able to talk to him so now the quest finished and I get to pass judgement on him and with that in mind I'm gonna execute him for causing me to have to load a save that was 20 hour earlier than the last one. B)

EDIT:  Dammit, can't execute him. <_<

Far too many hours for me to bother going back to do that, i am hoping a patch will sort it for me, im like 125 hours in to the game so far and i think i was about 30 hours at that point. NO WAY am i going back that far for one quest.

Far beyond going back. The game seems to think I've executed him, but won't update the quest.

Driving me bloody crazy; I hope the patch fixes it.

Yeah me too, hopefully they can patch it in a way for people that have already killed him can finish the quest. Well not killed him but won the fight, you know what i mean.

I don't even want to execute the guy, I want to haul him back to Skyhold and throw him in a cell!

I don't really mind about how and what happens to him i just want the ability to be given the chance to do what ever may be the action after defeating him during this play through. I don't want to be told that it will work the next time i start a play through basically.

I mean i will obviously want choices like you say once it's working but first of all i want it just to work lol

Don't worry, that is one of the options so you will get your revenge. :D

It would be if the quest wasn't broken beyond all belief.
