I gave up on this quest today. I went to the Fort and killed some guys and Servis is nowhere to be found. Walked around the Fort several times, fast-traveled to different locations in and out of the WA, and still notta. So much for my completionist playthrough! I also can't go to a previous save as I really do not want to redo 4-5 hours worth of work in the hopes Servis might make an appearance. I'll worry about it during a subsequent playthrough, or until it's patched for my current run. I'm patient.

I have the same problem (PC). Servis disappeared during the fight and I can't complete the quest.

I can hear what I assume is Servis mumbling in the area, but he is nowhere to be seen

I found he's actually there. Go to the quest marker. Then up the stairs to the battlement. Turn right at the top of the stairs and he's laying on the ground.

I have a guy in my jail cells (who I assume is Servis) but my guard tells me that the cells are empty (wtf, I'm looking right at the guy!). 

 

So I think the quest simultaneously thinks that Servis is dead (based on party banter at the quest markr) and alive but imprisoned.

Watched him walk throught the sky as Varic sardonicaly commented that his guys would't know what to do without the guy. Well apperantly neither do Bioware, as they won't even acknowledge the issue. Nice going there, two patches into the game as of december ninth and still not fixed.

I haven't reached Servis yet because I can't trigger "Find the Source of Darkspawn" to "Crossing the Sulphur Pits"... The docks that the flag needs to be planted at doesn't give me the option to do so. The dock is already connected to a bridge, but it's going the opposite direction. I need the bridge to be built towards the oculum...

 

Is anyone else having this issue?

Same here, although he did not really "disappear" as he just exploded when dying due to a rune I have on a dagger which put a walking bomb on about every mob...

That might have not helped. Reloading did not make him appear anywhere :/

*Sigh* rolling back two hours... That's where multiple quicksave slot help I guess

I figured it out! Sorry for the post -- I'm really new at this and that of Dragon Age. I just hope to not run into the issue with Servis, but glad to have read about the bug so I can prepare myself.

Yeah you are meant to be able to talk to Servis after the fight, he will be there mumbling away on the ground or making groaning sounds, you are meant to then talk to him but it bugged out for me too. For me he is lying on the stairs in the area with no option to talk to him. Pain in the arse!

 

I have seen posts about him being stuck in the sky and all sorts of places that make it impossible to talk to him! You would think him laying on the steps would allow me to talk to him but no cookie.

 

I never got to talk to him directly once I was close enough option kill or capture him popped...when I left and came back later he was gone and awaiting judgment back in skyhold.

Out of curiosity, what was the first broken quest you had?

I've poked around and figured a few things that will bug up this quest. 1. As soon as he's dead, a teammate will make a pithy remark. Let them finish completely before talking to him. If you try to do it before they're done, it won't fire. 2. It's best not to loot first. If you don't talk to him soon enough or go far enough away, he'll just vanish. 3. Make sure he doesn't fall or get tossed somewhere out of range. That may cause problems, too.

That's the issue. Or at least, one of the issues. Servis is not supposed to die - in my first play through he had information to pass on and couldn't be killed -  but you can still kill him with walking bomb. I watched it happen (in my second game, it Dorian killed him this way in fact). Once he dies, the quest sticks. The fort will reset with his mob, but not Servis.

I got the game on the pc too and I got the same problem. The guy doesnt show up but 4 enemies do keep spawning there. I keep reloading saves but its the same each time. Nothing happens

The first was the one where you find a dying soldier and she wants you to give her commander a ring. I gave the commander the ring and the quest doesn't update or finish it still says that I need to give the ring.

Same thing happened to me. I played the PC version

This worked for me, after looking everywhere around where he had died went to the top of the steps and there he lay.

I had this issue on the PS4 as well. I killed everyone but Servis was no where to be found. I thought I did something wrong and ran around for a while trying to find him. Eventually I ended up back at the camp and and he was at the top of the stairs on the battlement

My problem with this is not that I can't find Servis, for, indeed, I found him, and judged him. Unfortunately, the quest still tells me to track him down in the western approach. He's obviously not here as I already judged him. Wish this quest would go away

Well, it seems the issue is still in: I just ran into this. Great job, Bioware, not even acknowledging it!

This is a bug. It's not obvious it's him in the first place. You kill him, he disappears. The quest remains as does the marker for where he's supposed to be, but nothing.

Are they ever going to fix this? I've finished the game and this quest still cannot be completed.
