I'm playing on an Xbox One and occasionally in dialogue/plot sequences there are pauses minutes long... like the model wants to get from point a to b but is stuck. Eyes are moving etc. so it isn't "frozen" but things are slowed down and I frequently have to press x just to get to the next part of the dialogue. Has anyone else encountered this?

It's a Bug, had it with Dorian in the Library. You have to skip that Dialogue, with X. Loading the game didn't do anything for me, problem occured everytime.

Same. It also happened later with my romance and some important plot points.

I've had the same problem, and seems to be increasing the further I get in the game.  I've also had problems with random enemy spawns, and things vanishing - eg I was looking round a camp when just vanished.

Yes, I've encountered that. The worst part is that since you have to skip, I think that instead of skipping a line of dialogue I skipped a whole cutscene that was supposed to go right after the conversation. :(

I've had it happen a couple times on PS3. One time I was able to restart and have the scene play out properly, but the other one just wouldn't work without skipping through lines. I hope this is patched before I play through again. I can deal with the many other little bugs, but missing out on dialogue pains me.

Yep, I've had that same issue multiple times on the PS4, it's immensely annoying.  You have to wait it out or you could try pressing the square button or whatever the xbox equivalent is...but be careful or you'll skip stuff, I think I accidentally skipped a few lines.

I got it in the same spot, Hobbes. So frustrating.

I encountered the exact same thing in the same spot last night on my PS4.  Perhaps it's very likely to happen in that specific spot?  Haven't seen it otherwise - about 30 hours in.

I've just had it in that very same spot. Also occurred earlier in a conversation with Dorian. It's like the game can't handle superb moustaches.

That being said, it also happened in the Cassandra romance scene, which totally killed the mood.

I'm reluctant to keep playing until this is patched, since it seems to happen during the most important cutscenes. I can go through trivial cutscenes all day long, but as soon as I try to advance the plot or a major squadmate sidequest, I have to skip half the dialogue to get out of the freeze.

I've heard that the work-around is to wait it out. I tried it and I seriously had to wait like 2 minutes, but it eventually picked back up. I don't know which is worse- waiting around, or accidently skipping.

I sat there for literally 5 minutes with nothing happening, so I started mashing buttons. I can't sit and wait for several minutes, only to have to do it again 5 seconds later when that character speaks again.

The one I had just now in the desert, I was yelling at (insert character name) just to shut up and butt out of the conversation, since he kept freezing it. I now hate a character I was previously indifferent to, and not for any kind of intended reasons. :(

Early on, it was a minor nuissance. I could press 'skip' and not miss much, but now it happens way too much and sometimes skipping doesn't even work.

Yep Xbox One. Cassie in Haven,  Dorian in Skyhold and the dreaded Stroud in the warden quest. Cassie and Dorian were one line a time but Stroud was every time he opened his mouth. It completely ruined that whole quest sequence.

I missed most of the Hawke/Warden plot 'cause of this. I had to skip most of the dialog. :(

It does seem at other times as well but the worst was during those convos.

Yep I have had the problem in all the places people have described. Is there any plans for it to be fixed?

I had the same problem sprinkled throughout my game.  I'm on 360, btw.  I used the X-button skip to get passed it.  Only once did it not work in my game (during a Stroud conversation)  and I just waited until later in the game to do the mission.  It worked but the scene still had pausing problems.

PC here, normal dialogs seem ok, but these 2 bugs get worse the further you progress. I loaded an earlier save like near the begining of the game and no issue, then reloaded my almost 90 hours in save and happens every time.

The 1st is the vanishing NPC's and blinking mobs, have to just wait awhile for NPC's and companions to reappear in Skyhold. Only happened occasionally once in skyhold, now every companion in Skyhold is invisible untill you wait for them to appear.

The 2nd is related to Dialogs, but it's only special cutsceen dialogs that crash the game every time on anything, it could be a quest cutsceen or a companion cutsceen in Skyhold, game just goes black and freezed my entire PC.

Happens everytime since doing the "Wicked eyes and wicked hearts" quest. Only happened once or twice before, now every time, I can't play anymore till it's fixed since it now happens on every and any cutsceen.

In my experience it's better to simply wait it out... this can take a very long time, but eventually the scene should continue on its own.  I say this because I used to skip through these glitched parts, but not only did I miss out on a lot of dialogue, skipping actually stopped working at one point and nothing would correct the glitch.  Now I just wait and it solves itself every time... it's still pretty annoying.  Oh, and this is on PS3.  Apparently the glitch is on all systems.

I'm on Xbox One, and this has happened to me a few times. Always during important plot points of course! I tried re-loading a couple of times, but it kept happening in the exact same spots.
