Ok, I admit, I have a weakness for kitschy hippie endings. I somehow hope since DA1, that the DA overall story - the problem of the Blight, the Black City, the banished Gods, the Elves and Mages - that there is someday a true good ending. (Or for others maybe a true evil ending too.

One of it contains a sort of spiritual transformation of the world. It is clear the world of Thedas, magical and mundane, is totally out of balance. Maybe I watched too much "Avatar Legend of Korra, but this idea, connecting the Spiritual World and the Mundane World, like healing the world. Something along those lines, that humans, their magic, the spirits, the Gods, all of it becomes balanced and healed again. On the worldly side it would mean to create a totally new society, where no Kings and Emperors rule, where races are no divided.

I had this idea, as Inquisitor after the DA3 events, I would found a city, maybe in the former Dalish lands, between Orlais and Ferelden (most of it is ruined by the wars anyway), and there create a society where all are equal, and which isn't ruled by a King or a Lord, but by the people. Yeah, I know Democracy for Thedas, what am I thinking! XD Still, this new city would have a quarter for each race, Humans, Elves, Dwarfs each, where they have some self-government and have their traditions, and then a common part in the middle, and a sort of Senate or Parliament where all races decide together. Like a model society in a huge new city, en miniature.

And in DA4 the spiritual ending is some sort of big healing transformation of the world.

Yeah, kitsch. I know. That's what I would love to see. A good ending of it all. And they all lived happily ever after. :3

I actually like this. Unfortunately the series is still marked under 'dark fantasy' genre for some odd reason and everyone has to be a sad in such a setting and no good can last -_-;

Individual "head canon" options vary wildly; just read this forum!

If nothing else, the wording of Sandal's prophecy is intriguing: "One day the magic will come back. All of it! Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see."

To me there are elements that "might" suggest aspects of events depicted in Inquisition, but if so, those elements were not taken to full fruition. My "wild guess" has always been that "he rises" was meant specifically to indicate THE MAKER.

Time will tell!

Well, Mass Effect was dark, and at least in the extended ending, the people of the galaxy had worked together, all mysteries solved, all (big) evils gone.

And it would have have to last, but achieve a postive status quo. As it is, the world of Thedas is profoundly ruined, a scarred, horrible world. Would it not make sense for an overarching story, that in the end the world changes for better? I mean, some new threat may then come, if the players want new DA games. It just pains me to think, even with Corypheus defeated, the world itself is in no better state as before.

I really like the idea of a City State, where things are better. Like a nucleus for a better world.

Welcome to the Free Republic City of Dale. The Proclamation of Sentient Rights will be decided by the Daleian Senate soon.
