Not at all, I'm trying to find time to replay the game and go with the templars, romance someone else etc.

I've finished Origins 9 times, DA2 6 times and I plan to play DA:I for a long, long time. They're all excellent games, to be honest.

So no, I don't rather boot up Origins, not yet at least. Perhaps next year, to make another marathon and finishing all the games again, making yet another new world state :)

I'm finding the combat pretty awkward and it's a shame as I'd love to continue playing. I don't mind the auto attacking and stuff, but the camera angles are terrible and the lack of a responsive mouse camera pan pretty much make the combat much worse than I believe it actually is. Feels a bit like a cheap knock-off of the Witcher 2 combat system with all the fun sucked out of it and I spend as much time(more probably) fighting the controls than the enemies.

The less said about the tactical camera the better.

I may shelve the game until a patch addresses these issues(and the UI) or a modder does it for Bioware.

I would not. In fact, though I love the story and characters of DA:O, I'm not sure I could handle that kind of combat anymore.

I see the merit of both games and i actually love the combat system of both games. So yeah i will play Origins again, but never over DA:I rather a marathon with all 3 games.

Im of the opinion that Origins is the better game based on what Ive played of Inquisition so far, roughly 35 hours. Inquisition is still a good game that I haven't beaten yet, so no I would not rather play Origins, a game Ive beaten multiple times.

Yeah, and my opinion is that her opinion is a crock of ****.

Now that is an example of healthy respect...

@topic Seriously someone needs to make a dedicated complain thread, it's getting a bit annoying to come to the only spoiler free area of the forums only to see a hate thread here, a 'bash combat" over there and a general load of whine because this game is not BG or Origins '-'

I'm using my copy of DA:O as a coaster.

For real though that game was massively dated even for its time.

Yeah, I'm wishing for Origins big time (16 completions under my belt). I loathe the combat in this game, I feel like I'm spending more time fighting the AI than the enemies and it just feels like work and not fun at all. I will slog it out to see the end, but I don't see myself doing another playthrough because the gameplay is just so unappealing, no matter how good the story or characters might be. I think I will get Divinity: Original Sin and/or Banner Saga to tide me over until Pillars of Eternity comes out, which will tide me over until Witcher 3.

No thanks, I'm having fun with Inquisition :) Besides I can't play DA:O any more on my PC because the memory leak means that it crashes constantly in Denerim (this is despite uninstalling/reinstalling and applying the LAA patch). Whereas Inquisition is running very nicely. It's a little weird for me that there are all these complaints about DA:I being unplayable on PC, and how Origins was polished etc etc when the complete reverse is true for me ...

lol no, not by a long shot!

DAO is awesome, one of my top favorite games, but I've been enjoying DAI like hell and it will easily replace DAO if this game keeps on being this good.

I'm thoroughly enjoying DAI now. But i agree IF the combat is like Origins then this game would have been a Masterpiece for me. Well you just have to dealwithit since game was designed to appeal to mass audiences and specifically for people playing with controller. Suxs i know.

I dont, im loving this game and honestly origins does not hold a candle to it. Exploration is bigger, it looks a LOT better, combat is definitely a LOT better. Tactics need a bit of work yes, i would really like a ranger option for my archers and mages but otherwise i am quite happy with inquisition.

Nah. I love DA:O. The story and the characters (Alistair and Morrigan), but I would probably just go back because of nostalgia. I find DA:I to be a better game overall.

There are frustrations in combat for DA:I especially with the tactical view and with the lack of skill slots,No healers,Potion limits etc but would i rather boot up DA:O? Goodness no i love it but I've done that game to death. I've finished Origins with pretty much every possible origin male and female. The combat was boring in Origins too especially for Mages. I like the fast paced exciting combat in Inquisition i just wish they'd let me have more skill slots and a better tactical view and party member tactics options that lets me fight how i want and not how it wants.

Playing it right now with some recommended mods like "forced deathblows" and some ReDesign pieces.

I´m holding off my DA:I playthrough until the patches/fixes arrive to get an optimised first run.

And yet somehow she still resurrected. That woman terrifies me.

Origins was great for its time, played it many times, but I went back after playing DA2 and the combat felt unbelievably slow and dull in comparison.

I thought DA2 combat was brilliant, fast, furious, visceral, up close and personal, great tactics too for playing nightmare, fast positioning, select ALL, attack target, all done in real time…

In DAI the enemies light up like xmas trees when you point at them, followed by a big fireworks party (the combat part) where the enemies are mere silhouettes most of the time obscured by smoke and fire, half the time I have to look at the radar to see how many bad guys I’m fighting.  Also the lack of tactics and control over my team is extremely frustrating, I’d love to move to nightmare again but whereas it used to be fun (even with FF) far from it now.   Maybe I’ll suss it given time

I also hate the combat but I've played Origins like 30 times so it will be a while before I play it again.

It's funny. In DA:O, I loved Mage gameplay, but hated Warior/Rogue with a burning passion. Since DA2 and DA:I, it's now the other way around.

I absolutely cannot stand Mage gameplay. I think I missed walking around with all my passives active and feeling like a bad ass. On the other hand, I think DA:I's Barrier is one of the lamest abilities, from an aesthetic view point.

I love DAO's combat, but I don't really mind Inquisition's combat. I can play it all in Tactical mode (and I do), and aside from the asymmetrical HP and subsequently broken friendly fire, it's fine.

I'm sure I will play DAO more at some point - it's a great game - but for now I'm enjoying the new one (something that I never said about DA2).
