Nope.
Who else would rather boot up their old copy of Origins at this point?

No, at this point (50 hours in) I'd rate it as equal if not superior to Origins.....in fact if we had an Origins style prologue at the start of the game for the different Inquisitors I'd mark it as totally superior to Origins as an experience.
I'm personally not seeing a huge difference in the combat, mainly because I've played all three DA games on console.
The only major negative for me at the moment is lack of banter bug.

It's funny. In DA:O, I loved Mage gameplay, but hated Warior/Rogue with a burning passion. Since DA2 and DA:I, it's now the other way around.
I absolutely cannot stand Mage gameplay. I think I missed walking around with all my passives active and feeling like a bad ass. On the other hand, I think DA:I's Barrier is one of the lamest abilities, from an aesthetic view point.
You know what? Maybe everyone is just disagreeing with me because they don't play as mages or something. You make a really good point.
I don't know though... I still enjoyed it when Whirlwind was a dual wielding rogue ability.

Oh hell no. As much as I love Origins, I could not deal with running through that again. So slow, so tedious. DAI's combat is kinda iffy (especially the tactical cam), and the limit eight ability slots is murder when playing mage. Otherwise? I'm having a blast.

I like DAI much better than DAO. Currently 50 hours in as Mage and just entered the Hinterlands as Roque.

Definitely not me. It felt archaic to me when it came out, can't imagine going back now.

Sure, I'd play it again, but I'm really starting to enjoy DAI since I've figured out some of the nuances associated with it. DAO is a great game in its own right and so is DAI once I got over trying to apply DAO to DAI. I think that once they fix some of the problems with it, it'll really shine. My hope is that they add more keyboard functionality and if they do that I can see this being one of my all time favorites.

Sometimes.
If I could throw DAO's armor and weapon restrictions (read: none), economic system, and DA2's tactics into DAI, it'd be so much better.

The combat has sucked in every Bioware game since Jade Empire. It's not why I play Bioware games.
That said, the lack of Origin's tactics menu is really getting on my nerves. I'm thinking I'm might rebuild my entire party and skip every AoE ability I can because there's no way to tell the AI not to target its allies.

And yet somehow she still resurrected. That woman terrifies me.
I was curious what happens if she is killed in Origins.. what is the explanation in DA2?

Can you imagine a next gen Jade Empire with great kung fu/customizable combat?

That's fair.
Regarding Mages, I think the slower pace of combat gave me more of a chance to appreciate the dazzling spell effects. Watching your character's hands charge with lightning before shocking someone to death, summoning tempest, etc. DA2 and DA:I because the pacing is so quick, just as soon as I get one spell off, I'm already doing something else. Basic spells don't have the same wow effect as they used to, sadly.

I like the new combat style. but what DAi is losing in my opinion against DAO is the overall story
I think that, while DA:I is about the inquisitor, it is more about something else (which would be clear if you have finished). TBH, I really don't see how DA:O's story is even as good as DA:I's. DA:I's story is so much grander and layered than DA:O's. On top of the Inquisitor's story, it's Thedas' story and something even grander on top of that. It's very intricately woven and much more alive than DA:O.
Also, 90% of the reason I played an Arcane Warrior in DA:O literally every mage play through is because of the stultifying combat speed.

i should finish this game! This statement has made me the most curious about the ending

Playing as a mage in DAO was probably the most boring thing ever , the staff auto attack was so slow that you could start the attack go out to the store around the corner come back before it actually hits the enemy.
Rogue and warrior gameplay were good however i couldnt get enough of the deathbows ,still DAI has better combat if you know what you are doing and arent playing on casual or normal.

Not I..
I'm replaying Origins at the moment. And the combat in this game (Origins) is vey slow and the companions do not allways do as I, as their leader order them to do. I'd tell to say Alistair that he should move to a spot and shield bash someone. And yes, he doesn it, but in his good time. It takes at least 5-6 seconds, if not 10 seconds to react to my order.

I agree with this so much. DA:I is not as bad as people are making it out to be, nor is Origins as good. DA:I (on hard and nightmare) requires quite a bit of thinking to get through. Just because things play out quickly and with a lot of effects does not make it dumb. (It may LOOK dumb to some, but it doesn't make the gameplay any less "strategic" than Origins)

I love the combat. I don't like turn based overly slow tactics. However, i wasn't looking for Diablo 3 either...as I have that already to still attempt to play lol. I think this game did a perfect balance of giving the option to do a little tactics, but still allowing some action too. I like the system combat MUCH better than Skyrim where pausing was more about changing spells and less about tactics per se (where to stand, etc). I think they could have added just a few more options to make it just a bit deeper for those who prefer that..but I'm completely thrilled with the way it is :-). To each his own.

I like the new combat but without the tactic system from DAO/2, I hate engaging in it. I'll never understand why they removed it. It wasn't broken and everyone loved it, why get rid of it???

I actually prefer the combat in DA:I (with an xbox controller), i didn't play origins for the combat, but for it's excellent story.

Just another case of the community QQing so hard that the developer gets paranoid and removes EVERYTHING from whatever they didn't like. In this case, DA2 in its entirety.

Yep same here. DA.O = Story. DA 2 = Action DA:I = Story AND Action! ^^

I've re-played DA:O a bazillion times so no I don't want to play it again over Inquisition.
Maybe you should try playing a ranged class in DA:I. Ranged classes are a lot more fun in this game than melee. Melee combat can be...awkward at the best of times and downright frustrating at the best of times.
But seriously most everything else about this game is great. Don't discount it based on only one aspect of the whole!
