I think Origins is a far better game but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying this one.
Who else would rather boot up their old copy of Origins at this point?

I love DAO, always have. But I'm enjoying DA:I way more. Honestly, DA:I lives up to, MY, expectations. I just hate Mercs in hinterland keep dropping totems, instead of freaking Lustrous cotton. Other than that, DA:I's a keeper.

Oh yes i totally want to play a inferior game, imo DAO is a terrible game with Morrigan being its only redeeming feature, clunky combat, annoying story centered on a organization i hate, silent protagonist and that idiot Alistair make DAO unplayeable for me

I shouldn't have to use a mod to cut out a large part of the game just to make me want to play it =P
(but after saying that I am totally getting that mod lol)

Nope! I love Origins, but after playing Inquisition I don't think I would be able to play through Origins again. It's far too slow-paced combat, and heal-spam requirement would likely bore me.
I think it's a case of rose-tinted glases for the most part. The combat wasn't -that- tactical. You get the tank to tank stuff, and spam him with heals/potions. Occasionally move out of AoE spells. Though to be fair, I think the only tactical part of the Dragon Age games is deciding what party to bring in all of them, given you mostly just tank stuff and press whatever ability is available.

Having played DAO unto death and back and then back to death again I removed the game from my computer ages ago.
It was an amazing game and it was good fun to be had.
At this point however people really need to learn how to let go of past glories in order to look forward to future conquests.
tl;dr
DAO was great, but to continue the furious wanking of the game serves no purpose at this point.

I'm done bumping this thread. You people who hate Origins sicken me. Inquisition would not exist without it, and if you even claim to enjoy the lore then you must have enjoyed Origins. I haven't gotten that far in Inquisition but I'd be willing to bet there's more Dalish and dwarven lore in Origins than in any of the others.
You're just a bunch of PC master race neckbeards who can't stand playing something that's not "next gen."

No, there is a point. To get the message across that combat, tactics and level progression have been absolutely butchered and it's not a good change.
But I'm done because there's no talking sense with you people.

Combat was the weakest point in Origin, IMO, I can't play it again because of this.
I'd say combat was one of the strongest points in Origin, and it makes a big part of its long-term replay value. Either you employed appropriate tactics or you were dead - which is as it should be. But there were usually plenty of different ways for peeling each banana and so every class and character could shine in its own unique way. People who didn't care for combat could play on 'Casual', use one of the story mods, or simply killallhostiles when they weren't in the mood.
I guess in DAI they had to turn all enemies into AFKable pets because the interface makes high-octane DAO-style tactical combat virtually impossible.

You want to go back to Origins because of combat? The combat in Inquisition is leaps and bounds better!

As a PC player, yeah, I would boot up DAO at this point...At least in that game we had reactive romances, a control over our character, healing and no locks on skill numbers in combat...

Eh... as much as I enjoyed Origins, the combat system was just too slow for me and the lack of variety for the same sex romances got old made me prefer Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I don't play those games just for the romances but they're an extra touch that make me love the franchise even more. Zevran will always have an important place in my heart... Sadly, the combat system in Origins was just too slow and not that interesting for me.

Yes, but what YOU people don't seem to understand is that DAO is not the be all end all game for everyone. While the game was great and many people enjoyed it immensely the rest of us do not want a carbon copy of the original.
DAO fits you and your personal preference which is great. I am glad you were able to have a game that fit you so well I truly am.
At the same time however your opinion is not automatically the 100% correct opinion. Each person places different amounts of importance on different aspects of games. For me DA:I is the best Dragon Age to date because for me personally it hits all the right points of interest that I enjoy.
Your taste and the taste of others will obviously differ. To behave in a condescending manner to people that have a differing opinion than you serves no purpose other than to create hostility and to make yourself look bad.

The problem with this thread is that certain people are looking back at Origins fondly with a large helping of nostalgia while the BSN is still in its honeymoon phase concerning Inquisition. Very unlikely that you're going to get much of anything except polarised opinions, which this thread clearly demonstrates.
For what it's worth, I consider Origins to be the better game in regards to narrative and tactical gameplay while Inquisition is far more ambitious in scope, a visual feast, and still a superb game in its own right.

I liked DA:O because I found it to be diverse in side-content. DA:I though has a lot of choice consequence that adds replayability and trying out different classes and races as well.
I beat it after 78 hours and yesterday I was like "nah, I should just let it rest" but I WANT to play more, so I consider playing it again, maybe as a mage.

I played Origins a lot, I have thirty three wardens to choose from on the Keep.....when I say I played it a lot, I mean a lot.
I loved Origins but I'm equally loving Inquisition. I don't know if I could go back to slog though it again with another character so I'll stick with Inquisition, I'm already planning a dwarf, elf and qunari playthough at the very least after I finish my first human playthough.
I doubt I'll make a decision on which is my ultimate favorite until Inquisition gets some story DLC and hopefully an expansion like Awakening.

I think we just need to accept we will never have an origins again because a lot of the people who worked on it probably left. The first game will always be the best because its a fresh idea. Appreciate DA I for the new things it brings to the table because its still great in its own right.
All they have to do is nail the combat. Its fun, but I agree its rather mashy. A lot of this could be improved by just adding smarter/more punishing enemies that you cant bash to death. Tatics would be easy enough to add and they could always give players the choice to use auto tatics. Please both crowds.

I'm really disappointed with the combat getting shafted in Inquisition. Everything else in the game may be perfect, but that was the ONE aspect that I enjoyed the most and they ruined it.
Seriously at this point I just feel like buying a pack of cigars and sitting down to a fresh playthrough of something I never tried like a Dalish warrior and picking a male character this time so I can actually romance Morrigan.
I tried, trust me, I really tried.
Started new DAO then after Ostagar I decided that maybe DA2 will go better but again as soon as I reached Kirwall I gave up.
At this point I'd rather play ME and ME2 for the 6th or 7th time cause it gives me more satisfaction that this...
but well, I spent the money so I'll finish the game so I can complain even more ![]()
