There's a glitch in the game that allows you to wear one ring as two.

Pre-requisite -  You need at least two rings in your inventory.

Steps:
1. Put ring 1 on left hand.

2. Put ring 2 on right hand.
3. Select ring 2 and put it on the left hand.

4. Select Compare two times and notice you have ring 2 on twice (though they both say ring 1).

I'd like to remind people that 2 rings with the same name won't stack together...

 

This means that the bug in OP can't be used to your advantage.
