Surprising. It's been 12 hours with no response from any dev support? That won't go over well with the mass internet community or media...

Here's what I understand:

ME2 is only be able to read saved games from ME1 that were saved on the same harddrive (quote: "the original device"). This means that if you are using a new HDD and transferred your ME1 saves over, you will not be able to import them.

WHY? ME1 saved some part of your end-game info in the original HDD's cache. I understand that HDD caches do not transfer over to memory cards or other HDDs.

HOW TO FIX: You'll have to kill Saren again in ME1 to make the game save out all the necessary info to your current HDD.

If you don't own ME1 anymore, I recommend renting it. Cheaper than any used sale. Hopefully you still have an auto-save near the end-game.

The thing that is pissing me off the most is that if you start a new game then you will be stuck with the aftermath of the worst decisions you could make in the last game. Thanks for trying to reward all of us ME1 players, and then making us bend over, bite our lips and take it like a man. Good job EA :]

That's exactly what I'm doing. Unfortunately, some jackass rented ME1 and hasn't returned it at my local Blockbuster, and it was due yesterday : / . And to make it worse, they say that they cannot call me when they get it in, so I have to keep checking back with them every hour.

I don't want to by ME1 again, and my copy is 6 hours away from school back home.

lol was the first 11 save problem true, and Bioware just hid it? If so, that is total bs. Really this whole EA account/save file fiasco is just unneeded bs on the consumers.

I can confirm that reloading your old ME1 file and beating saren will allow it to be imported

i had played ME1 on the 20 GB HD so i put that in and imported my character just fine and then saved it to my mem card and put the 120 GB HD back in and then copied the save to the HD and loaded it up and it worked fine then.

I'm going to re-beat the game. Can't remember where the final fight was, or how to tell the difference between original game and the DL content mission. What do i look for?

I had the same problem but I was able to load the character after replaying the end fight with Saren. (I still have a copy of ME1 as I have some cheevos to finish off fortunately). I hope EA solves the problem soon so that everyone can import their saves w/o these hidden addendums/issues/problems etc. As I say in my profile...if I have the same problems with this as I had with DA:O, I'm going to SET IT OFF in these forums.

Actually you're fine if you used the transfer cable instead of a memory card. All mine were there.

Hey same boat buddies!

I used to brag (as recently as November '09) that I had a launch-day 360 that had never even had a hiccup. Then, hubris being the mother it is, bit me in the kazoo and RRoD'd me. Hard. So I was happy as a litle clammie when I copied all my old saves and whatnot off the HDD and they worked without a hitch (whew for not having to replay all of HL2 and the episodes).

Then today the depression sets in. I can see my saves like you guys, no problem...But my super-hawt space-chick apparently ain't coming along for the ride. I'm a very sad panda. I want a patch. Stat.

For real real, not for play play.

What I can't believe is that after all these posts and complaints, we haven't even heard from anyone from Bioware yet. You guys could at least let us know if you're planning on fixing this, or that we're just screwed and should move on. I REALLY don't want to start a game until I know one way or the other.

I got the game at GameCrazy's midnight release, RUSHED home only to find a BLANK import char screen! Talk about stupidity.

After beating ME1, i've had that save on the exact same HD on the 360. Altho, I once took the HD off and put it on my friends 360, and when I got back home, my BRAID saves were all disconnected from the game and not being read by the game! LAME 360ness!

I'll have to try the "replay the last bit 'o ME1" trick... christ, this bites.

Not true.  I used the MS transfer cable to upgrade my 20gb to 120gb hard drive and ME2 is not seeing any of my 20+ ME1 saves.

This is an unmitigated joke of a design. I was midway through my THIRD playthrough of ME1 on the same character, I had a RROD recently which then led to my just buying a new XBOX (the COD:MW2 w/ the 250GB HDD) and migrating save games over. So EA/Bioware drops a load of caveats on the ME1 character importer and says now I'm hosed until I finish this third playthrough? ME2 won't even see any of the existing ME1 saves on my new console.

C'mon guys give us a break, compound that with the goat rodeo system for accessing bonus content and you've done a bang up job of fault injecting the launch pooch.

I'm gonna go best of seven quater flips on whether to take this game back down to Gamestop and trade it in for something that won't require me to put on a dress and dance around a fire to make PUBLISHED feature sets work.
