Recently, AW_FC_1986 became the first mass effect player to complete the N7 Challenge series on platinum Difficulty. He very well may be the only one to ever do so. A true soloing outlier.
The original N7 series on gold was designed to be progressively more difficult as you advance N-rank from N1 to N7. Each rank consists of 3 progressively more difficult solos. These challenges are tough. Only those with patience, determination and perserverance have prevailed. To date, there have only been 11 mass effect players to reach N7 status on gold. The completion times vary from 10hrs 2mins and 38s (Hendrix137) to 18hrs 21mins and 15s (LordGanius), highlighting the commitment required to complete the series. Those times do not include the many many fails and re-attempts involved.
The series was not designed for platinum. In fact, to emphasize how difficult N7 on platinum is, Hendrix himself, one of the best soloist of his day, was opposed to the idea because he felt it would just be too difficult. I decided to open the series to platinum nonetheless, knowing that there would be few submissions. I felt that some people might want to push themselves further, with incredibly difficult challenges. So why not have the chance to get into a Hall of Fame? I never thought anyone would reach Platinum N7.
The feat was accomplished just over 1 year after the creation of the N7 Challenge Series. AW_FC_1986, already an officer in the thread, who proved his soloing abilities not only with the N7 challenge series on gold (having completed it in a remarkable 13hrs 35mins and 31s) but also with the Outlier solo series, being the only person to complete all outlier solos, and with the Compact, being one of only two to reach the Outlier status, showed the community that he was up for the challenge.
Platinum N7 was reached by Billy Goat on November 24th, 2014 with a total completion time of 21hrs 38 mins and 53s. Mass effect soloing history was made on that day.
The final challenge, N7 l - Spectre Status recognized required over a grueling 40 attempts! AW_FC prevailed and now holds the title of Platinum N7 Outlier.
