I know many people been having this problem (its been happening for me since the beggining of the games) but normally its "workable"

 

Companions missing from their spot in Skyhold. Most of them vanish from time to time, but all i need to do is run around in skyhold doing other stuff, when i go back they are there.

 

Lately tho, its been a nightmate to find Leliana. I can only see her once for every 4/5 hours of gameplay. And now Cullen is completely gone. Even his icon (which used to be in that tower, with the bedroom above the office) is gone now and he is never there. 20h of gameplay now that he's been missing...

 

Has anyone found a way to make them show up again? I mean Leliana is frustrating but i can find her now and then. Cullen tho is completely MIA and now even his icon is gone from the map... Feels like I lost an advisor

Maybe Cullen and Leliana have a little something going on, give them some privacy!

Cullen has been missing for ages for me. Couldn't complete or talk to him for two main missions now. It happened after Sera's prank.

Ye i tried to convince myself of that for some time but its been too looooong. Im sure its a bug

I have random companions vanish for hours at a time, even showing icons and quest markers but being nowhere in sight. Blackwall, Iron Bull and Leliana are the worst but it happens to all the others too - it's rather frustrating!

So they vanish even after reloading skyhold?

Yes. In my case, there isn't even his icon on Skyhold anymore

Happened to me too a couple of times, the last time it was Iron Bull that was missing even though the minimap showed his icon.

In cullens office, talk to the soldier there if she is there when cullens missing as well as his icon. Its for his personal quest. I honestly thought cullen was gone forever from skyhold, but never thought that talking to the soldier in his previously unmarked room would solve it. For Leliana, no idea.

Be sure to click through the levels, as well.   In the upper right hand corner you'll see something that has one area highlighted (when you've got the map up).

 

I was just walking around Skyhold just last night, not really looking for anybody and discovered Cullen at the very front (above the bar).  It was odd.

Yes that was my problem. Just realized what went wrong. But in my case is even worse.... That soldier in his office, its not interactive... at all. No matter how many times i reload and restart she never talks to me.

 

Spent some time reloading old saves and found out what was the matter. When doing Sera's Pranks and we went to his office the soldier was there and apparently i talked to her during that cutscene and by doing so the quest to find cullen and cassandra didnt go into my journal.... And now the only way to fix it is going back to a save prior to Sera's Pranks and talk to the soldier first, and then do the pranks. Unfortunatly, thats 9h worth of gameplay down the drain.... really pissed me off....

If Leliana is missing there may be some clue like a letter on the table to click that triggers a cutscene or something. Sometimes there are random things you need to do to trigger them for personal story quests it's very weird.

Well then you probably have to do the same as i did find a save just before the soldier is in that room and then try it again i lost 9h because of that...

I refuse to go Back hours, just because of a bug

Done the exact same thing, don't feel like loading back 10 hours or so, guess this is going to be a Cullen-lite playthrough now.

Yep, I tried everything to get Leliana to appear (since she's the one who has been missing for the last six hours of play now), nothing seems to work, reloading, rolling back to an earlier save, leaving & returning, completing a quest and returning etc. still no Nightingale and no explanation for her disappearance (as there is with say Cullen at one point)

That happened to me with Cassandra. She showed up later though.

Thats related to Cullen's personal quest, there should be a soldier in his office that tells you where to find him

Tried already sadly when I realised there was something up with the party banter and music (I'm starting to think my game doesn't like me given the big bugs I'm hitting!), on the good news front Leliana finally reappeared thanks to another quest trigger, bad news? Bull has now vanished

After Blackwall's first conversation in Skyhold he completely disappeared, never talked to him in Skyhold again. No idea what caused that bug, either.

 

Sucks to hear that other characters are bugging out, I absolutely hate missing content and I might have to wait for a patch before starting my next playthrough now.

Yeah, Blackwall was one of the other prime culprits prior to Leliana doing a runner, so frustrating to see a quest mark, head down there and him be nowhere in sight over and over again, just glad my Inq. didn't fancy him or that really would have made things annoying!

I've been at Skyhold for several hours and haven't once been able to find Leliana there. She's simply nowhere to be found for me. There's nothing in the area to click on that might lead me to her, either.

I didn't find Cullen until yesterday, and Leliana until today.  I found Cullen in my quest to find Leliana...  And Leliana, I didn't find until I gave up, when I went up a stairway from the library that I apparently never went through before.  Found the rookery at the same time.
