No custom character means no custom Hawke?

So I don't actually own a copy of dragon age and dragon age 2. I played them over a friends house and want to buy Inquisition now that I've moved away, and my question is if I can't pick custom characters in Keep will I be unable to customize Hawke in Dragon Age Inquisition when their character appears? Will this effect that or am I okay as long as I select all the decsions made and import what I have in keep? Thanks for the help.

All you have to do is to import a custom world state from the keep. Having custom world state is what allows you to customize Hawke in Inquisition. You should be fine.

If you are talking about changing the appearance of Hawke in Dragon Age: Inquisition, then yes you can. From what I have seen, I believe there is a scenario that allows you to change the appearance of Hawke in-game.
