But when I changed the resolution lower to 1024x768, guess what happends, the mouse issue is NO MORE. it got fixed! So that made me think it was prolly a frame rate issue. even though I got a new graphic card, the issue was still there. Now I'm glad its normal

I had this issue to, the mouse speed was way out. I tried to fix it by the things you guys have added here, but they didn't work.

Maybe this is only me and my machine - but this works for me
The problem is caused by the program's Alt-Tab behaviour - once your mouse starts acting up - exit game restart Windows - and don't use Alt-Tab within ME or ME2

Just throwing in my two cents!
I bought a new mouse today, because the old one (a very basic microsoft optical mouse) broke down. I got me a cool 3200dpi laser gaming mouse, and suddenly ME2 turned unplayable - the camera seemed to be moving all on its own, so I had no control over where the camera was at all. Tried all the suggested fixes here, didn't help.
THEN I realised that the mouse sensitivity was TOO LOW to begin with, not too high as apparently for a lot of people it has been. So instead of the suggested 0.12, I changed it to a whopping 3.0 in the coalesced.ini, and voilà! Works perfectly.
So if lowering the mouse sensitivity doesn't work for some of you, try that. (I know it's an old game and old thread, but hey, some of us still play it!

Okay, I know this thread is ancient, but I just recently bought the game and I'm running into the same mouse problems (cursor being lethally slow during the bypass mini-game making it impossible for me to advance in recruiting the Krogan).
I downloaded the game from Steam and for whatever reason, the file mentioned:
Mass Effect 2/BioGame/Config/PC/Cooked/Coalesced.ini
does not exist. I have only three items in my Config folder but PC or Cooked or Coalesced is nowhere to be seen.
Help please?

You are offering almost nothing for the handful of us left here to consider:
http://social.biowar...6/index/4795299
The majority of the time this comes up, it isn't possible to solve it with the current hardware. This sort of thing frequently arises when the game buyer tries to ignore the System Requirements, and has too slow of a graphics card, or too slow of a processor, or even occasionally both are too slow.

KattyKit, I don't have this installed any more but make sure you can see hidden files on your computer and search on coalesced.
Gorath Alpha, 100% of the time this comes up is from lazy porting/programming.

@katty: Steam installs the game in a completely different location to where other version install it to, so you would be best served using windows search functionality to find the file in question. Dont expect to be able to fix it, as the problem you are experiencing is due to low framerates from your GPU under the load of having the game screen running active in the background, and then the bypass minigame being overlaid on top of that. Best off following the "How to" and post a full error report.
@pox: The problem that katty is describing has nothing to do with lazy programming, and everything to do either sub-par hardware, or incompatible video drivers.

I disagree, I had major problems with that mini-game until I turned of the hard-coded mouse smoothing and acceleration. That was in there for controllers and should have been removed for mouse use in the porting process.

I hate to resurrect such an old thread, but I'm having a mouse sensitivity problem that I did not see addressed, so I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I've been able to use all of the tweaks mentioned to get my mouse feeling right, except for the galactic view in the galaxy map. Whenever I go to that level of the map the cursor moves at a snails pace. It seems like I have to move the mouse a foot just to get the cursor to move a third of the way across the screen. I'm physically disabled, so this has proven to be...a bit of a problem. If anyone knows of a parameter in the Coalesced.ini that governs the sensitivity in that part of the map, I would greatly appreciate your help.
