Helmet off during cut scenes. What gives?

They would need to take every possible helment into account when animating every cutscene and conversation to avoid clipping. Apparently obvious clipping is a good way to get your game to fail console certification (even if we're okay with clipping, Sony and MS worry that some people won't and thus we all have to suffer).


I have some doubts about that. My dwarven character's beard has clipping issue with pretty much every gear he wears including the default attire in the beginning. I noticed it in the very first scene when Cassandra and Leliana interrogate him.

It's not an absolute restriction. Having beards occasional clip is probably one of the few instances were clipping is acceptable, as opposed to certain hair styles that will clip most of the time.

Thinking back to when a dev (I'm afraid I forget which one) told me about the clipping prohibition, it's possible he was referring specifically to the camera clipping through the terrain.

I don't remember the exchange well enough to find it.
