I so enjoy picking flowers, mining for ore and collecting shards from the far side of the moon.

I don't mind it too much (usually) ... but for the love of everything, let me point on a resource and the characters walks over and picks it up. Why do I have to walk all the way over there myself and wait for the cursor to change to be able to loot something?

Every epic AAA RPG has these stupid things you have to do. It was the same in Mass Effect 3 .. having to run around doing errands for people to get the War score up. I think they are meant as a time sink.

I just wish they would cut down on the meaningless errands and make them into fewer but longer (and more story-driven) side quests. Why am I hunting 10 rams and looking for blankets in caves? ... it seems sometimes that I basically have to do everything. Why am I not just securing the area so someone else can go look for supplies.

At least I don't have to chop down trees all the time and bring it back to camp so they can have cooking fires and build siege engines (or at least I hope I don't have to ... having only played a few hours so far).

I quite enjoy picking flowers bloodied by the death of random forest creatures. I imaging Cassandra would feel the same if I didn't do it in the middle of a fight.

In all seriousness, I actually did enjoy picking flowers, collecting ore and making my own equipment after upsetting the balance of the local eco-system by killing a majority of its predators.

lets be honest the inquisitor leads a multinational army yet he has to pick flowers for his potions its retarded especially if you are a alchemy heavy character you will spend more hours finding weeds to make potions than literally anything else in the game

Bingo, i don't like it because its nonsense. If it were a bit more realistic, this would be deligated to noncombatants. It doesnt make sense that you have people who can mix potions but cant find the readily available ingredients. You have people who can repair shipwrecked ships but can't find the nonsensical ingredients to fix them.

Yea, its a time sink. It should be optional or you should be able to get others under your command to do it for you. Say, a requisitions master, for instance . . . Places on the war room maps to gather supplies, and the ocassional escort/ rescue mission. Boom!

You need timber . . . And you want the herald of andraste to go find a prechopped pile of lumber amid a million acres of forest, rather than sealing the breaches? Idiotic.
