I've already posted this in the technical help forums but it quickly got drowned and I think it's worth more attention.
I'm playing a human female rogue with the British female voice. Everytime I mount my horse there is no VO such as making the horse gallop and so on. I'm pretty early in the game so I have only tested this with Cassandra: when I make her ride the horse, unmount and switch back to the inquisitor the sounds are there. It seems the female horse-interaction soundset gets only loaded with female companions but not the PC.
Okay, now I'm on the Storm Coast and don't get this issue anymore. I got the problem right after finishing the horse quest. I'd restarted the game but the issue was still there.
The bug occurs in the Hinterlands and transferes over to any area. The method to resolve still works in other areas.
I played the game with a male character first and didn't have that problem. So in direct comparison it's pretty immersion-killing. It's only a little detail but it adds so much compared to other games with mounts like Skyrim or Two Worlds where you don't have such a thing.
