Not everyone wants to see their warden, and many wardens are outright dead. Add onto that the many races all with distinctive voices and accents

Yeah, because we had a different VA for every inquisitor.

Oh, wait.

Not everyone wants to see their warden

Then import a save in which he's dead.

SON OF A B***H.

I knew erasing my first playthrough was a hasty and foolish mistake.  It was just taking up so much space!  :(

I'm so sorry :(  I've noticed as well that the save files are pretty large.  I hope you're able to recoup on a second playthrough, DarkSpiral.  A lot of what I've been able to find has been through scouring the internet, so hopefully by now there's info handy, at least...

I think it'd be easy to make a Warden story as DLC. For those that had their Warden killed, well, that's what the Orlesian Warden is for from Awakening. Like Shroad, they'd just replace the Hero of Ferelden with him.

All I want is the Hero of Ferelden, Champion of Kirkwall, and Inquisitor of... the world? to all meet up.  That scene alone would make everything worth it.  I disliked that the Hero played no role in the Inquisition.  Instead, he's on some selfish quest to save himself, while the whole world is falling apart?  Ok.

Eh.  It isn't like I wasn't going to playthrough this game again.  I didn't know the HoF letter was dded to your Codex either.  I'll catch them the second time around. :)

Oh wow...so Solas is heading West...the Warden is somewhere far West looking for a cure to the Calling...now my hope of seeing the Warden again has increased. Would be funny if we get a DLC to not find Solas, but to play as the Warden looking for the cure and s/he meet Solas, not knowing that Solas is the Dread Wolf.

Did you even pay attention to the game's story at all?  The very last thing you want on your team is someone that Corypheus can assume control over, and will become fodder for his rebirth the minute you kill Cory's current body.

He is not just looking to save himself, if he finds the cure it will save all wardens and possibly even every single person tainted by the blight so that situations like Crestwood need never happen again. Finding a cure would be a valid reason not to come back fight every single bad guy that tries to take over the world especially when there already is an army fighting against it including people who helped beat the archdemon like Leliana and Morrigan aiding them. Remember also currently he/she still contains the taint so coming back would just make him or her a possible pawn or even the next host of Cory in a worst case scenario.

it seems that you forget Avernus he already find a way to live for 400 hundred years as grey wardens, there is no urgent need to find a cure, since Avernus obtain a better result than simply find a cure.

It's 200 years, and he just extended his life through blood magic.  Also, for those 200 years, he always hear the Calling calling him.  I rather get a cure than extending my own life by blood magic and hearing a voice in my head telling me to go die in the Deep Road every second.

But if you get the quest from a romanced Leliana it sounds like its a personal mission. And if it was, then you would drop everything you were doing and make haste to skyhold.

Avernus is one of the reasons the HoF thinks a cure is possible at all, the other reason being Fiona, who actually was cured, through means even she doesn't understand or can replicate.

Also, extending one's life by sacrificing the lives of a half dozen other Wardens with horrific experimentation is less a cure and more of a...

...actually I'm not really sure what to call that aside from "sick."

Exactly what I'm thinking.  Well, I also think that the Warden will meet Solas, and Solas might has plans with the Warden, the Cure, the taint, or all 3.

Thats why i think it would be great DLC. People who dont want to play as their warden dont have to get it. They can just choose ib the Keep what happens and keep their head cannon of the. Wardens voice. For me I would rather see my Warden with the wrong voice then have an endong that keeps her from Alistair

The Hero of Fereldan rides side saddle and is invizible in Inquisition like he/she was in Dragon Age 2. He\She is mentioned and the presence if felt in Fereldan mostly. The most recent traces of the Hero of Feraldan I assume were in the Storm Coasts where I believe the Wardens were tracking him/her down but claimed in their reports that there were too many darkspawn in that area to exact him/her.

One thing that bothers me is that you as a player get to set Hawke's appearance and what not and the same thing could be done with the Warden if he/she should make an appearance. All that is known is that he/she is searching for a "cure" for the Calling and that you invest a lot of hours to find and get a message to the Warden. As a result you get a ellegant letter, a rare item and an excuse that he/she is to busy to help the Inquisitor prevent the ascention of a "I'm going to be the new god" character type.

Solas is heading west? Hmm... Maybe a Warden DLC isn't out of the question.

It might be interesting, but I think it would only work if the Warden was the protagonist or the Warden hardly appears.

-SPOLERS-

A DLC involving the warden seems like a good next step. You can play as him and have the option of playing him as mute( so people dont complain their warden isnt anything like the new one), or  he could have a preset voice. The story could involve him finding a cure to the calling, so he can finally settle down with his/her romance( whoever you chose in DA:O).  If you chose the option where your warden makes the ultimate sacrifice, then the orlesian warden can step into place find the cure with all the old party members from DA:O. This would give people who's warden is alive proper closure, and people's warden who died  get to have an expiernce with old  party members from DA:O, and make the warden proud by curing the call. It also allows us to see some old characters and have one last adventure with them.  I understand this would take a lot of effort, but I am personally tired of bioware never tieing up loose ends. This or they need to find  way to kill him off in the most badass way possible.

I honestly think it's because Bioware is trying as hard as it can to move away from Origins, and more more towards a Mass Effect style game. Origins represented their old design philosophy of Baldur's Gate, and everything they have done since has been a massive move from that. Inquisition itself was a love letter to DA2, with just enough mention of Origins to say they did it. I seriously think they would be perfectly happy if we all forgot Origins ever existed, the Warden never happened, and treat DA2 as the first real game. The Big Bad is from DA2 DLC. Hawke shows up to help and be the Big Damn Hero again (possibly). Varric is a companion again. Red lyrium is a major plot device. The Mage-Templar War is (briefly) a major plot point.

That's why I don't think they included the Warden. They want us to focus on Hawke and how awesome DA2 was, and if everyone could please forget the first game that'd be greeeaaat.
