Morrigan's a damn swamp witch. In Origins she's dressed in rags (admittedly, it was still more attractive than what my Warden was wearing), and now she gets a freaking ball gown and I don't?! What's up with that?!!!

I would have loved if there had been a choice before the ball - "Something practical." or "Something frilly and fancy. Dress to impress!" Otherwise, if they just went with a dress and you didn't have a choice wearing it or not, there would also have been backlash - "My Inquisitor would never have been seen in a dress like that!" However, that would have taken a lot of resources and some scenes could have been problematic to do with a dress. (I'm thinking about one scene in particular.)
Like Caladin says, we're there to represent the Inquisition so I can see why they went with snappy, practical uniforms.

But... If there was an option for a big frilly impractical dress, I'd take it.

The thing is, there IS justification for them just going with a dress. Josephine, Leliana, and Cassandra (you traitor!) all insisting for different reasons that you NEED fruffery to impress the Orlesian court. It would've been the best cutscene ever. "We already spent the money! It's a necessity! Look how much we spent and we can't get it back without ruffling a TON of Orlesian feathers and enraging our allies and busting up diplomatic negotiations! You have to be seen in this, or the Inquisition will take a big hit!"

What's the justification for that eyesore we were forced to wear? I can hear the above easily. I can't hear the justification for "here, wear this ugly thing that's not even Inquisition colors. We're all doing it. For some reason. Because we like hurting the Inquisition's reputation by wearing hideous things."

Hell, my Manquisitors deserve better, too. They should get to feel good. I seriously would've rather seen us all in the same outfits as the other Orlesians rather than this hot mess.

This one's a huge missed opportunity for me. Imagine how much it would've served the Cullen romance especially if he'd gotten to see you in a fancy dress. The amount of gawking, adorably awkward fumbling to speak, and blushing we didn't get to see... *sad sigh*

Honestly--the whole Inquisition deserves better.

Not only was I sad I didn't get to wear a ridiculous dress, I was sad I wasn't wearing my dang mask in the cut scenes because there's no option to have hats ON during cut scenes. ><

edit: I mean, ideally you'd get to pick sensible versus FASHION, of course. I think the part that bugged me most was what Vivienne was wearing, though. Did she lose a bet with my Inquisitor or something?
