Absolutely ridiculous, but it appears that in 2009 someone still has a system that fails if your password *contains* special characters.
No, you didn't read that wrong. I didn't say that they require you to have special characters in your password, as some really secure systems do.

In Dragon Age, if your EA password contains special characters, you have problems logging in.

Likewise it appears that they allow you to sign up with an email address that, at least in the xbox version, you can't enter from within the game. It's not like the symbols aren't available for the xbox either, they just aren't allowing you access to them when they prompt for the address.
