She asks you to find some old mage texts. I think there were three of them. You get approval for each one you find with her along in the party, and she greatly approves when she thanks you for taking the time to help find them.

So anyone figure out how to raise Vivienne approval outside of bring her along for Main Story quest and a very few amount of Side-quests?

I got a lot of approval from her right at the beginning by stating that "this chaos helps no one" about the mage templar war, which is true enough. I didn't have to come out and support either side explicitly.

She also approves of judgements on people which are clever, ironic, or create political advantage.

You also get points from her war table missions if you do them.

Basically if you just don't get in her face about "MAGE FREEDOOOOMMM!!!!" you can side with the mages and conscript the grey wardens and still have high approval with her.  There's not need to get into pointless arguments with her.

I also got approval from her after I allied with the mages by agreeing to train some people in templar abilities.  This is a completely reasonable idea.  They aren't the templar order.  They are just some people with templar abilities who work for the Inquisition.  They aren't there to police mages, but they are handy just in case enemy mages do start posing problems.  For cying out loud, the Inquisition already has some templars in it, even if you don't side with them.  What are a few more going to hurt?

She also really likes if you suggest mages should be allowed in the Chantry and if you agree that Cassandra would make a good Divine.

One more: I also accepted her criticism that it was a bad idea to stay in Haven.  It was.

Agree with everything that she says. Be power hungry, vengeful, anti-spirit, anti-mage, anti-templar.

I've always found it easy to get high approval from her. Pretty much be as fake to her as she is in general. Depending on whatever your opinion just side with her about her views like pro-chantry, pro-circle, mages should be in the circle and be superficial about fashion.

Don't bother, she is stupid and irrelevant.

lol That's her biggest fear in the Fade!

Iron Bull apparently disapproves if you let Morrigan do it.

I was wondering why. Giving great power to others?

She was one of the easiest characters to get the approval of.

Even when I played as an elven mage who shared (literally all of) Solas's views it was not difficult. When she asks your opinion of the mage-Templar war, I believe the only response she disapproves of is saying that the mages should be free. Saying that "This chaos helps no one," "Order must be restored," and even "The Templars made their beds," are all things you can say that would make sense for a character of the Libertarian persuasion that she will approve of. Then you can offset much of the disapproval from making them free allies by supporting reasonable measures taken to ensure the Inquisition's (and the mages' own) safety. In fact, I think the disapproval does not even trigger until/unless you go talk to her after the quest (it was noticeably absent at decision-time but then came up when I went to go speak to her). Add in the "Truth or Dare" War Table quests which there are quite a few of and, well, how hard is it, really?

But I can see how it would be difficult for many here considering the remarkable number of Warden- and mage "FREEDAHM!!!"-supporters.

Manipulate her. Say she's fit for the Divine and say the circles need to be restored.

Great things are beginning, my dear.

Vivienne greatly approves.

If you go get Vivienne super early there's various Hinterland side quests she reacts to for extra approval.  The Hinterlands' quest mechanics are special in that almost every quest gives approval/disapproval to most companions based on decisions while future zones do not.

After you finish Hinterlands the only way to gain approval is bringing her along for main decisions, talking to her (very little dialogue) or doing her Inner Circle stuff.  There's no other side quests that she gains approval from in any other zones that I know of (I checked wikis).
