someone's agenst blacks having sex with whites. I smell hate from here and it seems to come from you OP.
I have been misinterpreted before, but this is definitely the worst time. I am trying not to have the thread locked, I kinda wanna see a dev post about what they were thinking. So please, keep these ridiculous comments out.
What does it matter what they were thinking? It really isn't up for debate. The story line for romance with Aliens fits into the ME universe, so I fail to see the problem.
Don't think I've ever seen anyone go OMGWTFBBQ about Captain Kirk whoring it up in his series, and is it really so different?
That you compare another sentient being to an animal, and suggesting such a relationship is akin to beastiality is you doing so, is rather... narrow minded? Absurd? I can't even describe it, except to accuse you of being a xenophobe, but I'd rather not.
Yes, this is a make believe imaginary world that your are trying to bring a viewpoint from our society into. It doesn't mesh, it doesn't work. Just accept it, and avoid romancing them period.
To reiterate - Bioware doesn't owe anyone an explanation for what they've included in their game, and demanding they respond is silly.
Firstly, just because someone doesn't "owe" me an explanation doesn't mean that I can't ask a company that I am a customer of and fan of a question. Where did I demand anything? I would LIKE them to respond but don't expect anything more than the thread being locked.
Secondly, I love all the aliens and love the idea of aliens in general. I hated Ashley because she was so anti-alien, and I romanced Liara because I liked her a lot and because though blue, she was still nice looking. I have no problems with the asari because they look like us.
The way that you put it, though, is to imply that any lines drawn about what one would or would not do is xenophobic. I am drawing the line with Turians, who literally resemble bugs, and Drell, who look like fish.
Bioware loves to give a more "realistic" view of even ficitonal worlds, and gives us the darker worlds that DA:O take place in as examples of this. In the real alien ME world, Turians would look down on Turian-human relations, just as humans would look down on human-turian relations. If the writers wrote it any other way, they wouldn't be staying true to the lore THEY wrote in the first game, no matter what.
The way you put it seems to imply that you would want even Volus and Elcor Romance options.
Ah, I see we are indeed on the same wave length here, at least about the view points of other people.
And I in no way mentioned to alluded to Volus or Elcor romances, but now that you bring it up I suppose it could be possible... except that the Volus literally die out of their pressure suits, and the Elcor...
That's a funny thought. How the hell could you even tell if an Elcor is getting emotional randy.
"Horny Statement: I wish to bang you."
Ugh, I'm going to be wondering about this for at least the next ten minutes.
Anyway, we've gone over in many different threads that relationships are not solely dependant on physical contact. It certainly is a bonus, but it isn't always. I do agree the Turians would look down on a Turian-Human relationship, but Garrus doesn't honestly care about that - He only wants to do what he feels is right.
Tali... well I guess the Quarians would really frown at a Quarian-Human relationship, except they no longer have the right for reasons I can not state with out giving out spoilers (Even if they are obvious ones).
It still comes down to - It's a matter of personal choice and preference. Where does anyone have the right to 'draw the line' about some one elses beliefs in what they can find attractive?
I'm a neutral party here, I see your point and understand, logically, your side of it. But I also understand the other side of it, and nothing you've said has supplied any concrete evidence as to why such relationships wouldn't work. The most you have going for you is the difference in amino acids, but that's apparently explained in the game (I don't know how they do it, so don't ask).
