Don't bother replying to gamergamergamer, as he has proven via previous posts he was born without higher brain function, bless his heart.

Also, what you would call "normal" appears to be the vast minority on these forums.

Unless you all know something about the OP not apparent from this thread, the racism accusations are way out of line.

Thanks, saved me from typing it myself.

Okay, I can understand how humans would want to be with themselves obviously in both gay and straight sex.  I can even accept that the asari kind of look like us, they're attractive but blue, and I don't even have a problem with that.  But some of the options in ME2 are....interesting.

Doing it with Tali is like doing it with your robot....between the voice and the mask, I don't even think of her as anything but machine really.

Garrus?  He's my 2nd favorite character and all but serious EW at the possible parts he's packing.  Thane is just....Thane.  It ruins my image of him as a silent assassin that he can be romanced.

I think that Bioware needs to put the brakes on this whole romance thing until we can play as other species.
P.S. I don't care how advanced or sentient you are, all of that is bestiality in my book.  Especially Garrus.

My point is late but valid.

Humpin a dog or being some sort of creepy furry : Beasty

Humpin a sentient being of the bipedal and physically proportionate sense : Trekky

The difference between the two :

1 ... Bipedal/Physically proportionate.. Krogan 4 chambered pain cannon - Terrifying. A similar sized though spiny turian - Offputting. Some sort of creepy quadriped or giant human (like doublesten size) Horrifying.

2 .. Capacity to consent : Furries - Terrifying.. Zoophiles - Double so. Woof may very well mean no. No way to verify. Not to mention animals are usually trusting to humans (at least the ones commonly abused) in a sense similar to children. Tali or Garrus don't have some pedantic relationship between them and sheppard. Its one of respect and care.

I'm a little unnerved by the whole physical fixations on the aliens myself. Spikey looks uncomfortable and chitinous.. Tali has chicken feet. But I'll still be romancing tali because its the most compatable personality. Liara's vacant most of the quest and childish. Ashley's the female equivalent of a southern "good ol' boy". Watching the youtube clips though they approach these things tactfully and with a similarly : I'm not some sort of xenophile- but its "you" kind of attitude. :wizard:

PS

Please.. nobody try to explain the hips... Those hips may be very well the result of her being some kind of kentucky fried quarian under there.. or the fact that her legs seem to be twisted towards the outside and backwards..

exactly, which is why the beastiality got put into this game in the first place, because bioware listened to the fanboy threads. i can guarantee you if you showed the sex scene with fish man to a random section of the population the reaction would be of disgust. and no normal is not a subjective term

Thane is also religious, and there are a lot of emotions involved with being religious; Fear and love come to mind.

I don't believe Thane is the impassive killing machine portrayed in the trailers. Of course, we'll have to play the game to find out what he's truly like.

I fail to see how you can have romance without sexual attraction.

It makes perfect sense. Since the dawn of man we've looked up at the stars and wondered "Is there anyone else out there? And can we **** them?"

I'm quoting this since it incorpates two posts in one.

My use and description of the term 'normal' is not what I would consider normal for the most part. I in fact did not label my beliefs in what 'normal' is, so accusing me of doing so is inappropriate.

To gamer; While it is possibly they included these romances due to fan request, it is hardly relevant to the point. And yes, normal is a subjective term

The ****'s believe in the persecution of the jew's, to a **** this is a 'normal' view point, but to many others this was abhorrent.

Addendum: Apparently my example is considered a curse word. Weird.

Another example - Indians considered their nomadic and shamanistic life style 'normal', the English/French/Wutever did not.

I disagree. Xenophilia is not that horrid, lest Mass Effect probably wouldn't have been half as popular as it was.

oh, and yes, the term is xenophilia, not beastiality, moron. If you're going to try and start this argument again, try using correct terms.

Go take a nice dose of cyanide.

It's not. it's xenophilia. Sounds a lot more sinister than it actually is. People are just extremely close-minded sometimes.

Bioware obviously thinks its ok, so why not call them sick bastards for including "beastality" in the game

I don't find the idea of romance with an Asari or Quarian to be anything unusual or negative at all, they both basicly look and sound the same as humans, the only differences (such as Asari being blue) aren't any kind of big deal, if anything the blueness is cool :) . Obviously getting into romances with fish-people and stuff like that, I can certainly see how people might have a negative view of that, but whatever your feelings on that type of thing it can't possibly be compared to our wonderful Tali and Liara, they're both just awesome, and definitely human-like enough for me :) .

I really don't get why all these pervs want to bone everything. I feel sorry for their pets since they most likely bone their dogs, or cats. Pretty disgusting...

The other aliens are different species, and if you "romance" them, you are commiting the act known as beastily.

The asari romance makes sense since they don't procreate physically. Everyone else doesn't. Everyone who has admitted to wanting to commit beastily in the game needs to be watched by federal authorities. Who knows what they will do to their dogs next.

heres the definition of beasitality aka zoophillia : zo·o·phil·i·a  also zo·oph·i·lism n.1. Affection or affinity for animals.2. Erotic attraction to or sexual contact with animals

what you cant seem to understand is that regardless of whether something is sentient or not it is still an entireley seperate specieis. by having intercouse with them or having an attration to them you are a zoophile, simple..

Bestiality: Sexual relations between a human being and a lower animal.
The aliens of ME are living, breathing beings capable of thought
processes equal to humans, ie - not bestiality.

They're sentient, and they're on the same (if not higher) intelligence. In other words, they're not your dog.
