It's like a guy trying to explain to me why he likes boobs. I don't get it.

It's 'cause boobs are awesome.

Though, speaking only for myself, I much prefer small and perky to the larger variety. I can't figure out what the big deal about big breasts is.

Well, there you go.  "Boobs are awesome" as you say.  I'll just have to say "Thane and Garrus are awesome."  I don't know why I think that anymore than I know why my favorite color is blue.  Either other people get it or they don't, but as the alien options aren't forced on anyone, who cares?  Heck so far as I know you don't even have to RECRUIT these guys let alone romance them.  I don't get same sex attration, but I never resented it being in Bioware games.  I just ignore it and move on.  It's not doing a cottonpicking thing to my enjoyment of the game.

Garrus is sexy because of his voice and general shy/cute demeanor

Tali is sexy because of her voice, hips and general sweetness

Go to Miranda or SuZe if it's just about the sex.

Actually, I'm going to have to digress about Tali and Garrus romances being fan services.

These characters will have known Commander Shepard for a long time by the time of Mass Effect 2. I think it makes sense that after that time they could develop feelings.

I could post an insightful psychological and socio-cultural foray into why I find, say, Thane to be incredibly sexy in just about every conceivable fashion -- and Tali and Garrus, to some extent -- but I know it wouldn't go anywhere because this is the internet, and once people start bringing up dogs and confusing bestiality with xenophilia and not conceding the vast distinction between animals and true (comprehended, human-level, sci-fi opera-esque) sentience... well, it just doesn't go anywhere.

TL;DR:

Given that turians and asari and quarians were all advanced species serving on the council, living on the Citadel, etc LONG before humans ever thought to jump in, wouldn't that make them the advanced species in this nonsensical and completely false bestiality scenario? Then, wouldn't that make our thoughts on the matter irrelevant because WE would be the "lower animal" in the equation and therefore just along for the ride? B)

If a human can scrog a Turian, it will show just how far Humans and Turians have come since the first contact war on inter-species relations.

Shepard not only should scrog Garrus, it's his patriotic duty.

Yeah and tali does have a Kim Kardashian ass.

We both evolved from a common ancestor, not one another.

Anyway, Garrus.. his voice <3
Besides, it's a sweet scene.

Horses and Donkeys are different species, and their dna difference is even bigger than the one between Humans and Chimpanzies. But Horses and Donkeys don't care about that fact, they **** each other and are even able to produce offspring ;)

I do think that actually might of started the Second Contact War. Image IPB

Firstly, just because someone doesn't "owe" me an explanation doesn't mean that I can't ask a company that I am a customer of and fan of a question.  Where did I demand anything?  I would LIKE them to respond but don't expect anything more than the thread being locked.

Secondly, I love all the aliens and love the idea of aliens in general.  I hated Ashley because she was so anti-alien, and I romanced Liara because I liked her a lot and because though blue, she was still nice looking.  I have no problems with the asari because they look like us.

The way that you put it, though, is to imply that any lines drawn about what one would or would not do is xenophobic.  I am drawing the line with Turians, who literally resemble bugs, and Drell, who look like fish.

Bioware loves to give a more "realistic" view of even ficitonal worlds, and gives us the darker worlds that DA:O take place in as examples of this.  In the real alien ME world, Turians would look down on Turian-human relations, just as humans would look down on human-turian relations.  If the writers wrote it any other way, they wouldn't be staying true to the lore THEY wrote in the first game, no matter what.

The way you put it seems to imply that you would want even Volus and Elcor Romance options.

Some people might look down on it, others might not give a damn. I doubt a female Shepard would give a damn what other people think about her relationship with Garrus if she were so inclined.

Also consider the asari. If someone looks down on a human-turian relationship more than a human-asari relationship then I would consider that a form of racism.

SPECULATION!

A birdy told me there is a scene where Garrus rubs lotion on FemShep's body so that it reduces friction from rubbing.

Make of that what you will.

Though I wonder if it's referenced in game. For example maybe you hear some of your crewmembers gossiping about your relationship and expressing admiration/digust/appreciation for your open-mindedness. Also, I've always wondered what would happen if the Turian councilor ever got wind of the first human spectre having "relations" with Garrus.

I agree its pretty ridiculous that Thane and Garrus are romanceable. Liara I can understand, MAYBE Tali, but this is way over the line.
