Have you seen the videos regarding the romances with Garrus/Tali? Especially in the final parts, I have *never* seen emotion that well conveyed in a game, and I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how well BioWare pulled it off.

Garrus' speech was the best I've seen. It's not the sex he cares about too much, it's Shepard. He respects her and she's the closest thing he's got. Who cares how the biological stuff works? BioWare thought about it and it does lead to some humorous dialogue, but it shows dedication on the part of Shep & Garrus, but also the message I see is that love blossoms between two personalities, NOT between two bodies. I see no reason why Shep and Garrus can't fall in love.

As long as Geth romance never comes to pass I won't be too horrified, though Elcor could be...distasteful.

It is unfortunate that Legion has no interest in such things.

And your post reminded me of this magazine I purchased on Omega, hehe.

This.  I don't think I could state it any clearer without plagarizing you.  The Garrus/Shepard romance far and above comes across as one of the most touching romances in the game, same with Tali.  It seems that, to make for the lack of visual fanservice (thank god honestly) they went with the approach of adding several emotional levels to the relationship.

I can only hope this carries over into ME3.  Sure, it's not the M-Shep/Garrus I was hoping for, but goddamn if Bioware didn't deliver in spades.

I don't see an issue either its just a game, and a game with lots of possible options even ones you will never try are the best games.

Does that mean that you finally get to see tali?  I mean if you romance her then I mean usually that means you know you have to actually see her. LOL

Unfortunately, no.  You don't get to see her face.  But that surprisingly does NOTHING to detract from the cuteness of the scene.

I could be wrong of course, but I do believe I heard Chris Priestly say, during the stream at the NFC Game Q&A, that you could see Tali's face, but it would not be an easy thing to accomplish. I wonder if there is an as of yet undiscovered option, or sequence of events that might lead to this?

The mass effect experience for me has always been about trying to bone everything and everyone. I like options. It's not bestiality because they can communicate on the same level and have similar emotional attachments.

Now if you were boning Rachni on the other hand...

The game should be renamed Ass Effect or Mass Erect for you.

Really?  I avoided the live chat because Chris was only answering the idiotic questions that everyone had asked before at the previous two live chat sessions (Srsly Chris?).  If he said that, that's news to me.  To my knowledge, her face is hidden.

Oh I was looking for the intimidate dialogue options that'd lead to that but I guess the devs didn't consider it.

Just wait till Mass Effect 3, I'm sure there'll be romance subplots with the mako then.

Would have been funnier if there was a dialogue option where Shepard just replies "huh" and fails to make eye contact.  Then Benezia sports one of those T-shirts that says "I'm up here ****hole"  Image IPB

Wow, I just watched the Garrus romance video on youtube (I don't often play female sheps, but I think my ME1 Vanguard is going to have to be ported over and romance Garrus), and that was amazingly well done. Sweet, and very subtly romantic. None of this "Ripping of clothes and having angry sex" stuff. I'd want to do that romance in ME2 and see how it continues into ME3, that's for sure.

Refuse to watch the Tali ones though, since my main shep is going to romance her.

It makes perfect sense. Since the dawn of man we've looked up at the stars and wondered "Is there anyone else out there? And can we **** them?"

I'm sorry, but I had to stop here when I read this and quote it, because it is full of truth.  Biologists have said that when humanity encounters a new race, there have historically been three thoughts that immediately go through our minds:

Can we shag it?
Can we kill it?
Can we eat it?

Not necessarily in that order.  Apparently they reckon that one of the possible reasons the neanderthals went extinct is that we shagged them out of existence (bred with them until they were completely absorbed).  Scientist even today sometimes discover new species merely by going down to the local meat market in some third world countries since we will no doubt try and eat it at least.
