1. Does Bersker proc and if so how often?

2. For a mere 10% boost in damage output you take double damage?

From how it looks I can see no reason why anyone would use a weapon with this mod ever, but maybe I am just misunderstanding, please enlighten me.

Well, if you never get hit, Berserk is a decent modifier to have. I personally wouldn't take the chance, though.

1. Berserk is always active, consider it a passive bonus.

2. Yes.

My thoughts exactly.

Ty for replies. If you never get hit you are nerfing your own dps by 95% by hiding in back out of combat range so the 10% damage boost means your only nerfing yourself by 85% at the expense of being useful to the team and having hardly any fun.

My assassin, even with near perma stealth still takes damage and if the little damage he did take got amplified by double, that would just ruin him.

Yeah, Berserk seems like a terrible property however you look at it.  That bonus is equivalent to 20 Will/<your primary stat here>, yet nets you double incoming damage?  It's a horrible trade off.

Agreed. 10% boost for 30% increased incomming damage might tempt me, hopefully they adjust this tradeoff.

I have a 1h axe around 220 dps with 20% dmg increase for 200% damage taken increase....I'm considering trying it out on templar for S&G..seems like a really bad idea on anything above routine though.

I have unique 2h axe whit that on it. The devs must have been on some very hard drugs. Icant find any possible situation where this is not massive nerf. Hope they remove the whole property.

Yeah... just keep in mind that means you'll be taking triple damage.  Honestly, it's just a really bad idea overall.  You're going to find yourself getting one-shot by weak enemies.  20% damage isn't worth it.

I wish I could give you my shield with 10% dmg increase for 100% damage taken. It would complete the set as long as you don't mind taking 300% damage...

Well, I guess its science time!

Start a private game, let some enemies hit you, see how much damage they are doing, equip the weapon go back and see if the damage is much higher.

Share your findings with us.

This passive might be good pn dagger, maybe even a bow or staff but on one handed? cmon, one handed holder are supposed to tank and reduce incoming damage. I tried it with my templar, i felt squishier than me assassin D:

That's a really bad game design choice...

So little imagination people! You obviously use this and the shield together with the passive that returns 15% of damage taken. Just run into a group of mobs then pop Walking Fortress and profit!

Then i must lack imagination how to use my 2h uniqe axe lvl 22 ( i think ) - couse i missed out on the walking fortress whit my reaver and katari ....

Its just bad property on any weapon really. Cant find a single reason to equipe that thing. And even worst - the said axe is quite good overall yet im stuck using lvl 22 blue 2h becose the uniqe is usless.

There is a skill on the Katari that taunts the enemy causing him to do more damage but also to take more damage.

Is this skill, Bezerk, similar to that?  I do not have this weapon and can not test it myself, but does the effect apply to your toon wearing the weapon or is it applied to the enemy when you attack them?

The Berserk effect is, sadly, applied to the character that has the item equipped. If it was the other way around, it would be a no-brainer for every single slot. :P

This actually made me wonder if the Berserk property was intended for the enemy but is currently bugged out.

This.  Playing SP I ended up equipping Cass with a shield with Berserk then promptly forgot. Next time I bring her along as a tank she is constantly dying to 2 or 3 enemies. Took me a good 2 hours of frustration to realize this...
