Hey all. We have general appreciation threads, but I just want to make a special appreciation thread for the music. DAI has some of the most epic and moving music I've ever heard in a game. The music during that sequence (the mission that you're recommended to be levels 8-11 to play, without mentioning the name) is particularly good - I've rarely been so moved during a game sequence just by the accompanying music. So I just want to give special thanks to everyone who worked on the music - and the SFX in general. You did a great job!

I'd also like to add that the sound of closing a rift is so unbelievably satisfying. I close rifts now just hear that sequence in my headphones.

The build up, the bass, and the final explosion. I want to but the sound guys a beer.

I really love the music. I'm still not sold on DAI like the previous titles, but the music is top notch.

Why is there such little ambient music? They play bits and pieces and there isn't even really much variety.

The music barely plays, and the combat music is especially uninteresting.

There's combat music? Like if I get attacked by a bear in the Hinterlands, there's supposed to be combat music? I haven't heard any combat music. Only in quest scenarios.

There is very little interesting music in the game. Standard string-heavy, forgettable fantasy grandiosity.

A good soundtrack? Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.

Ugh I love this game's music.  The theme of the Big Bad especially is amazing, I've been humming it to myself the last day.

Also, guys?  The tavern music?  How beautiful is that?

The Val Royeaux theme is a solid 10/10

Yeah the music isn't bad, now if only I was able to experience it in the game.

The Val Royeaux song is the same as the "tavern music" track, only without words. And it's pretty much the only track worthy of mention.

On the topic of tavern music, here's a great one (if you like your taverns downbeat): Cutlass Inn

some of the combat music is pretty good.. but i dont think there is enough of it.. also, i know people are tired of hearing it.. but DAO had better music.. sorry, but it did.

also, what is up with that jump sound effect.

Game music was fantastic. Huge step up from the past games, even if I did miss Aubrey Ashburne's voice a bit. Them remaking some of the old tracks as tavern songs made it better though.

Also thought it was a really nice touch how the bards in Val Royeaux perform their songs in French.

Origins had a few stand-out tracks and little else for me. I felt Inquisition's score is not only better overall but far more consistent quality wise.

Plus, it even threw in some great tavern music just to show off.

It's got me to the point where, whenever I enter a tavern and hear a song I like (Enchanters or Sera Was Never)  I'll be like "WHOA WHOA guys, this is my jam, let's take a little break.  Yes I know Cassandra there's this whole Breach business, I'm the Herald I deserve a break!"

I've had Enchanters stuck in my head for a while now. Probably my favourite tavern song in the game.

I like Rise too. They stuck it in the credits if I recall.

The one that gets stuck for me is "Empress of Fire, in the reign of the lion..."

Sung to the same tune as "Val Royeaux" and "Orlais Theme".  The latter is very grand.
