I am thinking of buying it so I can actually read some of the journal text. Is the guide as bad as the ME3 guide was (where info was wrong on more then one occasion).
how is the DAI guide

I could not get through the game without it. I tried, but was so completely overwhelmed so I just rushed through and missed out on so very much. My next playthrough will be completionist for sure, and the guide gives a pretty good path to follow in order to see as much as possible.

Yes, much like the DA 2 guide, I'm happy to say that the DA: I guide is also a lot of value for your money. I find in massive open world games such as this an official guide is very useful for a completionist. Perhaps you'll want to avoid using the guide on your first playthrough but afterwards when you want to make sure you complete everything possible, the guide is almost a must have.

It's a pretty good guide, though I haven't delved deep into it yet. I'm still on my first play through and I'm trying to keep spoilers to a minimum. But from what I have seen, it is very good, though in a couple of months (hopefully) the DA Wiki will have surpassed it in information. For example. I got some Sera approval for killing a family of nugs, but it never stated anything like that in the guide. Same goes for the side quests, it doesn't contain any approval gains that come from completing them.
