As someone who has beaten the game and considering what happens at the end I'd say it would be really strange if they started another game/expansion without the Inquisitor - "our" story is not done yet. As it is we'll probably stay with our Inquisitors for a while in my view (Don't know however if it's enough to justify another brand new game with him/her).

Both DA: O and DA 2 ended without "finishing" the Warden and Hawke's stories (respectively).  They could just have easily had the Warden been the protagonist in DA 2.  They could just have easily had Hawke been the protagonist in DA: I.  Just because there is room for more stories to be told around the Inquisitor doesn't mean that s/he could/should be the protagonist of DA 4.

I'd definitely be incredibly disappointed if they went this route.

Oh, please no. Using the same main character again and again gave us ME3 which is full of pointless cameo's, small world syndrome and too many of the same romances and companions coming back. DA is doing it much better with different heroes each time.

I hope so, I enjoyed playing the inquisitor just as much as my warden and since we had a voiced character it makes it that much easier to continue into a future game. I just see so much potential from things encountered in DAI for story plots that could evolve including the inquisitor. I kind of want a break from playing a new main character each time.

I think the original plan should stay. different hero per game,

it allows them to change core mechanics of the game,

if we had inquisitior again, we would have to improve/build the inqusition again. I can guess that next game wont have the "manage a faction" element, just because its in one game, doesnt mean it will be in all games moving forward.

I hoping the next game is north and in Tevinter. Imagine playing as a noble from tevinter, or a slave? Good origin ideas

That would be a mistake, so probably.

Realistically, I think either the game sells enough to warrant an expansion, which closes up the biggest gaps in the Inquisitor's story, or it doesn't, in which case we don't get any more games at all. I'd be surprised if the Inquisitor was the lead in a new title.

I fell like Dragon Age Origins is the last RPG (non MMO) that will get a substantial expansion.. instead we get mini DLCs that connect to the main story

I hope not. I want to explore the darkspawn plot again, but it needs to be different. We need followup on insert name here and we should be going after the darkspawn in the deep roads. What if we found an old god before the darkspawn did? Then we could learn if they are already corrupt or if it is the darkspawn that corrupt them.

Friendly reminder, we are on a non spoiler area of the forums. I advise you to watch which character names you mention in here..

In my eyes at least, the Warden story was/is "finished" (Main threat faced by him/her was "resolved"). When it comes to DA2 story it is a little more complicate because the game ended with a sequel bait and the "good work" done by Hawke pretty much goes to waste at the end of the game, the only part that did really matter on the game in my view, aside from the start of the war, was the DLC. But it is true, Hawke could fit as the Inquisitor if s/he was at and survived the Conclave, however that is mostly because the main threat on which s/he's involved was still not resolved.

The thing is, the Inquisitor now holds a lot of power, imo s/he's more powerful and important than the Warden and Hawke together, so it will be hard for Bioware to come up with another character (more powerful/important) to finish the Inquisitor main story - and at the end of the game our story is just not finished. (It is a little hard for me to try to explain properly my views without throwing spoilers here, so apologies for it)

Not really however what im hoping for is that in the final game is that we conclude with a blight and bring the warden back as PC.

I like having a different protagonist as it can give a different perspective on decisions you made from previous games.  Talking to some of the NPC's in Inquisition really gave me the impression that they wouldn't have been that up front about an action if I was using the Warden or Hawke to talk to them.

Considering that some peoples Warden's are dead I can't see this happening.

How could anyone believe that to be a realistic option, given the historical evidence? Hero of Ferelden? Dismissed. Champion of Kirkwall? Dismissed. Inquisitor? You can guess yourself.

Warden had to be dropped due to possible deadness, Hawke had to be dropped due to bad sales. It's by no means out of the question that Inquisitor gets another game if this one sells well enough. Hopefully they decide not to though.

I hope so. I hope they bring back a lot of the playable companions as well. The bioware formula is becoming very tired I'm afraid. I don't need another game of building up a cast only to drop them. One or tow additions and the rest a returning cast would be best imo.

It could be THE warden or A warden. I myself would buy ten copies of the game if my warden would be either PC or major NPC :D

A warden of some type might return in some fashion, but I wouldn't expect them to remain mute. Voiced protags are the wave of the BioWare future. This will undoubtedly upset some people.

As for The Inquisitor? I don't know where they can go next if they choose to go with a new PC. The Inquisitor literally has power over the Fade itself. That's some demi-god level stuff right there.

Loved the game.  I'm hoping that they will release several post-game DLC and an expansion for the game.  As others have posted, it is very unlikely that we will be playing DA4 as the Inquisitor.

I have a feeling that Bioware are gearing up to either have the Inquisitor back for DA4 OR there's going to be an actual expansion for Inquisition.

A lot of the characters' arcs felt unfinished and like they needed just a bit more development, and the Inquisition as a whole is only at the point where it can truly change things at the very end of the game. It feels like they stopped before the climax. A protagonist who isn't the Inquisitor is going to feel unnecessary in comparison.

I'd be all for being someone new if the Inquisitor's ending was anywhere near as satisfying as my Warden's.

I'm hoping the Inquisitor will be the same hero in later Dragon Age games. I kinda don't want a new hero each game. But if a later Dragon Age game features another blight and arch demon, It would make more sense to have our hero from Dragon Age Origins back since she/he IS a gray warden after all. Or the Inquisitor would have to become a gray warden.

I love my Inquisitor. Would want him/her back as the protagonist. I don't want them to be a worthless cameo roles like The Warden and Hawke had suffered.

My question would be, how would I import my DAI save and not get stuck playing the same class? I'd want my story to carry over, but don't know if inquisitor can go from mage to warrior like Shepard could. But who knows.

I'm liking the whole different hero for each game thing they have going on.

It worked for Mass Effect with shep, but that's because all three games were one big story arc with three smaller arcs in them. Dragon Age has a separate story arc for each game.

If they will need to bring some of previous protagonists back then it should be the Warden. DAO still the best of Bioware games.

Yeah this is how I have been feeling as well.

No idea what BioWare has planned for DLC/Expansions.  But going by how it ends, I don't feel "done" with the Inquisitor, at all.
