Did you know you can jump arrows? When a ranged mob is firing at you if jump at right time you can avoid getting hit by their arrows by jumping over it. Jumping actually can avoid more attacks than that but I will let you find those for yourself, I only mentioned this one because it's quite funny to watch an enemy archer trying to shoot you and you simply jump his arrows plus it's more fun than running out of the way.

Another tip:

If you guys want to get down from a high place without getting hurt, just call your horse, mount him, jump. Be happy!

I accidentally read this as "tips for little people" and I was wonder if maybe it was some dwarf-specific gameplay options.
