Remade my qunari with an older complexion. Doesn't show up here, as I haven't made it past the prologue, but I'm quite happy with her thus far. Will see how "Moira" performs in cutscenes.

She looks awesome, I've been rolling a Qunari female Mage but I've been debating switching over to a warrior?
Anyone got any suggestions for what class best suits a Qunari in Inquisition, at least in terms of story?

Warrior was fun and "muscled-up badass swings big things and maims people" certainly goes well with qunari but I had difficulty RPing any of the specs; Reavers use blood magic, Templars become drug addicts, and Champions are merely the least-bad of the three worlds.
The Reaver thing is weird because I'm not sure if a qunari would even need the quest to prepare the dragon blood to become a Reaver? Did Iron Bull? I don't remember if that's ever brought up, but I know the implications are that qunari have dragon blood so all the dragon blood infusion primers would be unnecessary. If so, that quest is a bit weird for a qunari.
I'm not a fan of a qunari Templar either.
I want to make a qunari warrior at some point but am also having issues as to what spec would fit best.

Think of the reaver quest as something that would hurry the natural progress along.

It's only fabled that Qunari have dragon blood in them/are descended from dragons. Not every Qunari is born a Reaver/Warrior. Iron Bull most likely had to go through a similar process to become a Reaver that the Inquisitor can potentially go through. Even so, Adaar isn't a Qunari, they're Vashoth and wouldn't have been privy to the training Iron Bull received within the confines of Qunari society.

I don't think there is a best option. It all balls down to how you see your Adaar and what backstory you have for them. I don't see mine as a natural born killer or someone who enjoys war, which meant reaver was a bad fit. She's an outsider who used her strength to make ends meet because there was no other choice for people who are feared and reviled. She speaks nothing of her parents, so I like to imagine they didn't approve, which in turn informs me she's an independent type who would never want to be tied down to the rules or drugs of any order. As such, being a templar was never going to be an option.
On a storytelling level, it makes the most sense to me that my Vashoth isn't the most graceful warrior (since many become mercs because they're big and scary to many and don't have other options). I imagine she picked up the largest and scariest weapon she could wield and learned on the job, which is why F!Adaar performing the whirlwind ability is funny to me. It's literally just her spinning with a big ass sharp object until she hits something--anything. I do like that she's physically the hardest working member of the team and the one who draws the most abuse, as I personally don't like the idea of a leader letting others do their dirty work.
Is a warrior Lady Adaar the best option for everyone? Nope, but it's just the right amount of likely and unlikely for me.

Mage is, IMO, more fun if you can headcanon stuff about the Circle or being the clan's First, and you can't do that as an ox. Humans and elves have meaningful mage content. Vashoth mages are just kinda there. It's a bit of a letdown.
Rogue was probably the one that gave me the least angst about everything, tbh.
I tried to come up with okay-ish looking female qunari but eventually give up, the weird lightning in editor always led to completely different looking outcome in the actual game. I am still drawn to play as qunari lady but I am wondering - Is there really such a difference between playing a human/elf/dwarf and qunari? Is it more than like 6 comments on her height?
Final incarnation of my Adaar. Qunari4lyfe. Lip rings from Serissia's face texture, plus a stud of my own and cleaned up blemishes.

Here's mine.

Plenty. People do react to you differently. IB does as well. And Sera can't stop drooling or staring.
Well, I've played elf and qunari playthroughs, and for the most part I would say there is about as much 'racial content', except for a couple of points in the game. But I found enough qunari stuff to at least not feel left out, although I would have liked more for sure. It's just one of those things it'd be hard to get enough of. ![]()

Good to know, I will have to give it a try. Thanks

I have finally created a qunari worthy of the title "Tall Badass Mountain of Horned Sexy Murder Goddess." My first qunari had too sweet a face, but Moya has more angular lines, and narrower eyes. Despite her warrior princess look, she's got a more saccharine personality. A perfect romance for Blackwall after my first qunari's romance with Sera ended in tragedy!

I think the best (or easiest) way to go about it is to consider the personality of your character and see which class/specializations best align with that.
My first Qunari, Hissra, was very spiritual, calm and witty. The mage class felt natural to her character. But I also headcanoned her to be almost untouchable in battle and the Knight Enchanter spec solidified that characterization. My second Qunari Inquisitor, Kost, was the epitome of the gentle giant trope. I mean, c'mon, his name literally means 'Peace.' He was strong, but a protector. So, he was a S&S warrior and a champion, taking the hits for his allies wherever possible.
If you can do that, it can be pretty rewarding and it adds to the story on a personal level. At least, that's what I feel. I don't think there's enough differentiation in the game's content itself to prioritize one particular class. It's fairly even for all of them so you can fill in your own blanks.
(Or just say "F-it" and go for what you think will be the most enjoyable. Never a downside to that.)
I wish someone would make a mod that replaced the PJs with the tarot card "clothing" for the female qunari. I want to look like the "savage" my qunari is!

This mod is pretty close: http://www.nexusmods...tion/mods/292/?

It's still full body clothing. That's the one thing that I dislike. When they did the Qunari revamp in DA2 - further backed up by Iron Bull in DAI - Qunari don't wear a lot of armor or clothing normally. Since I doubt Bioware is going to cater to the Qunari players much, it would be awesome if modders took that initiative.
Wouldn't it in theory be doable by using the "naked skin" that the characters have and adding various bits and pieces to it? I.e. straps/harness, not unlike IB?

I'm not a modder, but from what I've gathered, modding for DA: I isn't that advanced yet. The best they could do at this point is "paint" the skin color on the PJ replacement texture, trying to match it with the base skin colors as best as possible. In theory it's doable, but not yet.

I would hope that in the next game (if they offer the option to be Qunari again) that they provide race specific armor. I kept picking up all this race restricted armor but none was for Qunari. It would be nice to have traditional Qunari armors available to us. Also, the ability to craft vitaars. Sometimes I would find a vitaar pattern I liked but the color was too off-putting to wear.
Yay! for the many awesome giant ladies kicking butt so far! I went with mage for my Qunari, Ashra, funny but pragmatic, and well used to being in charge. Headcanon wise I figured she did just as much physical fighting as magic, using her staff as a pike or staff weapon and only using the magic when needed, or to be sneaky - she was an ice specialist, so I like to imagine sudden sheet ice makes any sort of cavalry or infantry charge tricky just for starters. Ended up going Knight Enchanter since she's comfortable in the thick of things after serving so long as a merc. She did surprise me though, I was all set for her to pounce on Iron Bull, but it felt so wrong even recruiting him I had to go back and turn him down, then an entire backstory showed-up and she sort of took on a life of her own.
Anywho, TL;DR here she is:

Edit to add: if you do recruit Bull there are some extra race specific dialogs that work well and felt quite natural.
