You mean you believe the Qunari don't have sex?

The Iron Bull describes their services in rather ordinary terms, like " they pop your cork (clicks tongue), in and out in 5 minutes.

And sometimes it's this long and intimate thing, takes all day and leaves you walking funny..."

No, I know they have sex. But there is more than one way to do it. I think we're looking at it from too narrow of a lense. I don't want to get into all the ways they can have sex, because honestly, this isn't the place for it. But, as an example, the Tamassran can be the one doing the penetration.

The Tamassran dictate how and when Qunari breed. Given their scientific outlook when it comes to offspring, I don't think regular intercourse is really an option. (Unless, of course, they're incredibly aware of their ovulation schedules.)

Spoiler tagged, as the subject of birth control is a somewhat sensitive topic for some.

Spoiler

And to lighten the tone after that heavy discussion... I now present you all the amusing mental image of DA2's Arishok sitting in a waiting room, reading a magazine and waiting for his number to be called so he can enjoy getting his "horn's scratched" by the local healer.

You're welcome!

(Actually, that's probably why he was so ornery and desperate to return home to Par Vollen in DA2. As the Antaam consists of just men, there was naturally no women accompanying their military entourage when it got stranded in Kirkwall... meaning that unless he swung both ways like Bull, the poor guy probably hadn't been laid in over four years?!)

Yes, they can fit all tastes and sexual preferrences.

I don't see how it contradicts what I said earlier.

You asked how Tamassran deal with potential pregnancy given the nature of their services. I suggested other things can be done instead of standard intercourse to avoid unwanted pregnancies. It was never a discussion of sexual preferences. I'm simply saying that you're assuming their sex is very vanilla and heteronormative.

I like to think that unless they have a reliable contraceptive, standard intercourse is not performed at all unless the goal is conception.

About time I ventured to this thread considering how much I loved playing a female qunari. First benefit: We got to see for the first, and so far only time, what female qunari look like if and only if you play as one.

You really notice just how large and muscular like a female wrestler they are when you've played as an elf for almost 100 hours and then load up an old female qunari save and are taken aback by the contrast. When playing as Addar I didn't really see just how busty she was until switching from an emaciated elf. And their height displays that authority that comes with inquisitor, although logically it should be irrelevant. My favorite part was when she lifts the sword after becoming Inquisitor and entering Skyhold in front of her advisors; much more powerful than other races.

Fortunately qunari also have magical ability. That would be a deal-breaker for me because I almost always play as a mage. What's scarier than six and a half foot tall horned qunari; one that's a mage.

I also loved instead of helmets (besides Dread for Iron Bull) they used face-paint. Face-paint looks great on a qunari. I normally hate helmets and appreciated the option to hide them. In past games I just wouldn't wear one. When playing a qunari though I don't hide them. This gives a ever-changing look to Addar including in the cut-scenes as the face-paint remains.

Negatives of playing as Addar? Qunari have always been kind of "there" in the background in Dragon Age; Tal-Vashok even more so. They don't have much of a role besides being the really tall, horned, badass looking race from far away. We know so little about the qunari in comparison to the others. What is the race even actually called? Qunari is used both for those following the qun and the race.

Humans are obviously the most significant race followed by elves. Elves have much of the "once upon a time we were blah blah" intrigue as well as the "one day we will rise again" aspect which was exasperated by Flemeth and Solas' apparent goals of recapturing the old elven glory. Dwarves are also more familiar than qunari but don't have the same significance as humans/elves.

Other negatives? Why would anyone pass up playing as a badass qunari for a scrawny elf or a plain human? The romances obviously. Two of my favorites, Cullen and Solas, are sadly blocked off from qunari. I can understand why. Solas is all about elven glory and Cullen is picky. He's handsome and has appeared largely uninterested in courtship so he'd probably be less inclined to romancing someone six inches taller than him who has horns and grey skin.

My favorite romance for a female qunari was Sera who not only is a fulfilling relationship but happens to woof for qunari women; adding intrigue. Honestly Sera hit the jackpot by managing to satisfy her fetish by bedding a qunari who happens to be the Herald of Andraste. I'd recommend this romance if you're ok with lesbian relationships and can actually stand Sera.

Last but not least, there's no race better for punching Solas and Dorian than a giant qunari.

Not sure about you guys, but I think qunari women being 7'0" is a bit exaggerated.

Let's not forget that humans are far from tall in this game.

So realistically, I'd say a female Adaar should be about 6'3", and a male Adaar possibly 6'5".

I'm simply saying that you're assuming their sex is very vanilla and heteronormative.

No, you read my post and imagined it implied something I never said myself.

I made a female Qunari named Atashi... it seemed appropriate since she's going to ride the Bull once I finish my other playthrough.  Special thanks to friffy for their sliders that I used as a base for her face before making tweaks to reach my final result:

Gonna be honest, that texture makes her look kinda cartoony.

I always assumed they were about 6'6; certainly not seven feet tall. Both genders seem to be the same height.

Lol, alright.  Thanks for your honesty.  Do you mean her complexion or makeup makes her look cartoony?

Complexion.

People usually use mods to make the character's skin look even more detailed and realistic.

This one strips it of any detail, so it seems like the opposite effect.

To be fair to the modder who created it (link), I think the poor lighting in the screenshots contribute to the washed out look she has.  The complexion does have details, like pores.

I usually only play this series three times, once for every class.

But I really want to play as a female Qunari for some reason... never play female characters, either.

Guess I just want to see what they look like.

Now, should I make her a mage or a S/S warrior.

Everyone seems to avoid the warrior class as a qunari for stereotype defiance. Mages everywhere.

But doing so has become so common that playing a qunari warrior seems more like the revolutionary choice now.

You might as well give it a try.

That makes me curious; why did you create FemQunari and why are you here on this thread?  Fill out this short survey if you are interested (anonymous results are public):

I used these sliders provided by the BSN member friffy as the base for her face.  And thank you :)

I've yet to see a female qunari that looks better to me than the first default with a few minor changes to it (horns, eye size, etc).

Yeah kalalala, dayum, you know how to get the most out of the cc.

Also, I played my qunari was a warrior. Felt the most fitting (and everyone else seemed to be playing Mages.)
