For the PC, can you backup your saves to another directory and swap them out? Or are they connected to the cloud in such a way so that doesn't work?
Please Remove the 25 saves limit,

I find that 25 saves for PS3 and XBOX 360 extremely frustrating. I have posted many times regarding this topic from different people. Hopefully Bioware will listen.

Once again, please try to brain before you post: when you load Dragon Age Inqusition, it presents you with a list of characters, and a list of save files to load with in-game location, playtime and even a nice screenshot.
To be able to present you with this list of characters, the game has to read all the save files - a task which would leave the game "hanging" unresponsively for at least 5min every time you launched it if you were to bypass this limit and allow thousands of save files (if you don't believe me then just disable the limit and copy-paste save files and see for yourself).
Until such a time that you, brilliant Nobel price winning computer scientist, discover a way to read an infinite number of files in less than 5s (that's the longest I'd guess you'd be willing to wait for the "load save" menu) it's either a limited number of save slots or abandoning the convenience features (I.e. You can have 10000 save slots, but the game isn't going to tell you which one you have to load to resume your elf mage play-through, or that you have to load elf_mage0287 to replay the cool boss fight)
how do you disable the limit?

I am playing on the Xbox One, and I get a message saying that the game is limited to 50 saves, but have you actually counted the number of save games you have available? My actual count is 24, and that INCLUDES two auto-saves and a milestone auto-save, making the number of actual physical saves I have available only 21. There is a BIG difference between 21 and 50.
Besides, my system is fairly new and still has a ton of space available, which I would be more than happy to allocate for DAI save files. Even if it didn't have so much room on the hard drive, I could easily switch to an external drive to add room for more saves. I was guessing that I had about 25 save slots while I was playing, and I figured maybe they kept the other 25 in reserve for a second character or something since it specifies "50 saves across all characters." However, I only have one character.
I just tried to start another one and the game said I have to delete six of my current save files to be able to start a new character. What?? If the game is telling the truth and I have 50 save slots, where are the other 29 slots? Or 26, or even 25? This is completely unnecessary and a big roadblock to enjoying this game, especially given how prone it is to bugs both small and large! The old RPG adage, "Save early and often" definitely applies to this game, but we can't really do that to the extent that we need to if we are artificially limited to 21 saves. 50 saves would still be tight for a completionist like me, but it would be a heck of a lot better than 21!
Why tell us 50 if it is not 50? How many save slots am I SUPPOSED to have on the Xbox One? I hate to delete six of the 21 saves on my older character, I had 240 hours on her including all but two achievements, if you count the Dragon achievement that is bugged. Help!
I actually had the save point counting problem as well on my 360. It kept telling me that I had used up 25 files when I only had 14 saves total. I was able to play after deleting a few more saves, but it's absolutely ridiculous on TOP of being ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

My save files so far are just around 350 kb each so limiting saves to an arbitrary number is stupid.

If this was written correctly!, you would have a folder for each character, saves would be named and the only thing to bring up would be the title!! Selecting the file would then display the content. Simple to anyone other than BW

You can move them out of the folder on pc (although you won't know which character corresponds to which save).

Kantr, you can: the last digits of the save name are a code that identifies each character. For example, my Alexandra saves end in "CAF32400" and my Daniel saves end in "BD48EB9A". If you want to identify the saves of one character, make a new save, exit the game and look for the name of the new save
I know it is not as intuitive as the folder system in DAO and DA2 but it works ![]()

I reach the limit of 50 saves, too.
The limitation is annoying, even in DAO (12 character slots for 7 games (DAA, and DLCs) is an effrontery) and DA2.
I have 500 GB and I have only DAI installed on my PS4. There is enough place for savegames without limits. ![]()

I don't think the limited saves would be nearly so bad if they didn't count autosaves and whatnot.

It's still ridiculous. Even a 250 save limit would be a vast improvement at this point.

Is it only 25? That is a bit ridiculous... I don't know the limit on Xbone, yet, as I'm sticking to 10 saves with my first character, to avoid running into too many problems with the buggy save system.
I'm not sure if I understand the math here... wouldn't it be 12 characters? Are the auto and Milestone saves being included?
Yes they do,
