So still no patch just this useless thread to tell people that this is all their fault..? Wow, even I did not expected this kind of ''support''...
P.S. Maybe there is a problem with Dragon Age Keep importing thing?
I tried that in my experimenting. I made sure to create a brand new world state, with a different name. I picked the same choices and imported it. It did no good.
I also tried a completely different world state (dead Warden/pro-Templar Hawke) and still no go. I made sure to only have a few characters (so there isn't too much save data,) and tried with different gender/race/class combinations. None of which get the banter to fire with any sort of consistency. I've got up to 3-4 hours in mostly dead silence. The music loops every 3 minutes for bout 20 seconds while in camp outside of combat (I was timing it during my testing this week.) This was without getting into any combat at all. Never any music in Val R. and never any music that plays for more than about 20-30 seconds every 3-5 minutes outside of Haven and Skyhold.
I also was able to pinpoint a spot where the banter stopped, very early on. There is a short tunnel next to Whittle (I finally got his name right, he's the guy that gives you the quest to find the apostate caches) in Crossroads. It leads out to the west, I do believe. I had banter about every 10-30 minutes or so up til that point. The music was much more consistent as well. I even had banter going as I began walking through the tunnel, much to my joy. Then it stopped in mid-sentence and I had about 2 hours of silence before I finally decided (at the 8 hour mark) to go get my mount. I didn't do any unusual tricks prior to that point, just rested. It didn't work. After doing what the thread calls the "fast travel/mount/rest trick," then and only then did banter come back.
This wasn't a testing character (I spent about 15 hours this week testing, and some of the posters have done even more than that,) this was on a reroll where I was just playing the game and not doing anything out of the ordinary.
Note: This is with the starting party. I have not recruited anyone else. I would have thought that Cass and Varric would have more than two conversations with each other in (now) 10 hours of game play. I've gotten 4 banters out of 10 hours (two from Varric/Cass, one from Solas/Cass and one from Solas/Varric.) I'm not trying to be snarky, but did I really just exhaust all of their dialogue options so quickly for that zone?
