Wow, I had one banter in Emerald Graves. I'm not sure it is because I was busy and my party was standing in one place for 20 minutes and after killing few red templars they SPEAK. xd I hope this means it started to working again. I deleted most of my saves, cleaned the journal and I'm offline for the first time. Hope it helps. 

I wish the banters were like in previous games. At least then they fired up and I could repeat them if I wanted to.

Well, it's not working apparently. I'm expecting more than two banters in over two hours... It's so annoying. I feel like I'm missing so much!

Just read on the tech help section that it might take some time for the game to reset to bantering again after patch 3? Like we gotta play for a few hours in silence before it kicks in full throttle. Has this happened to anyone? ...should I just...be patient?!?

Actually yes.  I went thru the entirety of Crestwood with complete silence after Patch 3.  Then went to emerald graves, after an about 2hrs of playtime in EG, they started talking, and now its back to how it was before the patch.  Thankfully.  I hadn't had any banter issues until patch 3, and now I get why some of you are really upset about it.  its like being on long road trip and your wife is really pissed at you.

I knew I this game wasn't giving me all the party banter. I blooming well knew it!

 

I completed the game (109 hour play time) and I don't think Sera and Solus had a single conversation! And i mixed every single pairing, so it wasn't that!

 

Yes, okay, I play the PS3 version, where I should probably be more worried about the amount of texture pop in and the occasional moments where my characters hair and tattoos just completely vanish mid cutscene.... but dangit, they're minor things. Missing out on party banter is much worse!

Oh noooooooo. I don't think I have it in me to start all over again right now. Might be time to take a break and come back in a month or so; right now, the idea of starting all over again just makes me want to hurl my PC into the sea.

Not sure why some people have issues and some don't. I've had no issues with party banter at all, in fact, In the emerald graves I couldn't shut Vivienne up! She was after Varric and Cassandra both like a pit bull on a postman. Felt like throwing her down and gagging her. This is my 1st run through and I've been mostly using those 3 with the exception of any plot/mission specific times or where I feel(personal rp choice) they should be involved, so I can't peak to other combinations.

Still so many banter problems.  It really makes me want to stop playing.  I *know* I can love some of my companions if I just got to know them better but the dead silence for a 2 hr play session is disheartening.  I've tried every fix I can find to no avail.  

 

I know this topic has been beaten to death but want to make sure my "vote" is counted in the "this still isn't right even after your fix attempt".

I started a new game yesterday, which is after patch 3 and banter is still fucked. This is as inconsistent as everything else. You are just a lucky guy.

Same here. I'm in middle of my second playtrough and it's 3/4 of game. I'm not going to start over.

This makes want to cry. I'm in Emerald Graves and it's silence. I'm not counting those two banter because it's ridiculous.

I...I just can't start over. I have nine characters just the way I like them and with no way to recreate them exactly in CC, not to mention the different world states I have for each...sobs. But party banter and different combinations are the reason I planned multiple games. Is there any information on what is being done about this and when, as I didn't issues prior to the patch? I mean it wasn't all the banter but it was considerably more then the nothing I am getting now. I would really like to play my games.

Well, for me it's the same as in my first playtrough so I don't see much difference after patch 3.  I had a lot of banters only in Crestwood. And a lot is maybe 5. xd But it was in short amount of time so it felt like lot of banters.

I am amazed with the lack of responce from bioware on this issue post patch 3. EA is asking for people on their tech page to send video footage of your party standing in the first hinterlands camp for 30 min...????


Are you kidding me. Who plays this game idle For 30 min.


Devs. If you even look at this forum. Here is the best solution.

Banter fires off every 5 min.. nothing but cut scenes can interupt it. If plot conditions are not met for next banter qued replay other banter...


Seriously this game is centered aaround companion conection. There is no such instance as too much banter...

I had no problem recording 30min video if this going to fix the damn thing. Just run fraps or whatever and eat a dinner, there are plenty free programs to convert that video to reasonable size and upload It. They asking for help and you whining so I assume nobody can help you.

*sigh* Was in the Emerlad Graves for 4 hours (usually I finish them in two) and had no more than 3 banter and all of them while I was standing around doing nothing. This s****.

 

I do all the workarounds: clear codex & journal, travel through war table, no mount, no fade step/blink, sleep in the camp tent and quick save/load after that. I try to avoid quick travel and sometimes I connect my game to the DA servers, sometimes I don't. Same with origins. Nothing seems to help.

 

I'm almost through that playthrough, I only have 2 main missions and Emprise du Lion + The Hissing Wastes. I will create a new char after that and if I don't have my banter back in the next pt, I stop playing the game til it is fixed. I can't play the game like that anymore.

And most of use have banter, as long as we idle. So IMO the test is useless, because I want to hear the banter while I explore the world and not while I just stand around.

Broadcast to Twitch, the free tier has an option (you must turn it on) to archive streamed videos for 2 weeks.
