Gotta love Cheat Engine.
I don't know if I'd be able to finish the game without it.

Click on the link above and you'll find the Cheat Engine banter mod ![]()
- Download the CE 64bit version
- After you've install it, open DAI and load the game
- Open cheatengine-x86_64 and then the banter table in it
- After that click on the little computer icon and open the DragonAgeInquisition.exe and hit yes when asked if you want to keep the table
- Go back into your game and click num1 or num8 (depending on the table you are using)
P.S.: If you already knew all this I'm sorry. I just want to help ![]()

Yes, it breathes life into Inquisition. Also, Nexus Mods, has actual mods instead of just save files. Lots of cool stuff. Replaying my first playthrough as a mage without armor and weapon restrictions. All this without a toolset. These guys are good!
It works T_T, praise the helix brothers

OMG, is just... too much... need to breath. If this works i´m going to cry. Thanks a lot! I was pretty much lost, gonna follow the steps and see if it works. Maker bless the modders and the community.
Almost a month since we've heard anything official about the banter bug and now modders are fixing it. Pretty disgusted with you right now Bioware, honestly. Creating something usually means you have a certain modicum of pride in it and want people to experience it like it was intended but NOPE. Screw that. Lets just say nothing and the modders will fix it eventually. ~smh~
BUT. Modders. You are all beautiful people, I shall name my firstborn after you. Modder Alphonso James Junior.
Us poor Xbox one folks can't mod....
I am unsure if we are complaining because it works the way they intended or there is a large disconnect. I played three hours today and I got three regular banter lines. I switched party members etc etc...
I feel you bro. Next gen consoles should definitely make something like the Mod support on PC. I don´t know if it´s posible, but everyone should be able to enjoy what modders can do.
Even as soomeone who has supported bioware it is truly disgusting that it has taken them this long to fix this without some sort of explanation saying this is in some way an issue that is catastrophically hard to fix.
Btw for anyone who has trouble with the mod, try changing the keybinding first. It wasn't working for me because the number pad 1 on my comp doesnt actually do that, so I had to rebind it.
The cheat engine thing works beautifully, in fact they might actually be talking too much now. I'd run out of banter if I kept it running constantly. But what ghasts my flabber is the fact that the solution seems so relatively simple. The timer was resetting and/or not always firing when it ran down to zero. You're telling me that in MONTHS Bioware couldn't figure this out? Pshaw. Seems to me more like no one was really trying.
EDIT:
Btw, since I used this environmental comments have also increased dramatically. Which I didn't even realize was broken.
I tried it for about 15 minutes, spamming the num8 key. Oh my god. I actually giggled more than twice! Not sure if one of the tables is automatic or not, but i will try. As far as workarounds work, this is the best we've gotten so far. Hopefully this will help both modders and devs fix this bug for good! I have a little hope spark again ![]()
This Mod is EVERYTHING.
Maker, Creators, God bless the wonderful Modders who did what BioWare wouldn't/couldn't.
BioWare, using the Bethesda approach re: bugs works for Bethedsa because they actually offer Mod support. Since you don't, you may wanna rethink that.
I can't wait to get back into the game now!
Huh interesting, I actually came back here to check out if the recent patch fixed the banter, but then I went back to DA:I just to try out this mod and it works wonderfully. It also proves that The Western Approach is bugged and won't play any banter, you can hammer the banter key as much as you like.... Hello Bioware, honestly, it is BUGGED! I've been saying this since November, ack.
I think it's really interesting that you can see in the Cheat Engine tool how much time is left to the next banter, the amount is usually consistent with the 15-20 minutes between banter reports of players where the banter worked.
I think I might go for a fourth (or is it fifth already ?) playthrough with that mod and just hit the banter-button everytime I feel lonely. Awesome.
A mod which fix party banter??? Yeahhhh ooooh wait... I'm a console player

BioWare, you should hire these modders, because without a toolset they are better than your current staff.
Just curious, without the help of any mods, has anyone experienced repeat banter? I've been restarting the game for the past few days so I can't remember. One thing I did notice though is that the game autosaves immediately after the banter finishes, which makes me wonder if the game internally "crosses out" those banter lines and never repeats them again.

I am playing on the PC and get repeat banter. I haven't noticed it on my 360, but I don't play on that box as much. I would rather have the repeat banter than the dead silence I get in the Western Approach.
If you were able to click on your squad and talk to them (cuts scene and all) like Origins, the banter problem wouldn't be as much as one.
Western Approach banter is completely broken, even with Cheat Engine. So in this playthrough I won't even bother with that area.
Okay is used the banter fix and suddenly...
I pressed the num1 once... Now I have banter ever 0.5 - 2 minutes. Without pressing the num1 again.
Its as if my poor companions wanted to talk to me all the time and now that they finally can they are unstoppable.
This is beautiful
3rd PT and so much banter i never heard before.
There's two versions, one that keep the banter happening till you press the hotkey again and another that only trigger one banter, I prefer use the last one so I don't run out of banter too early
So, the modders managed to fix what was never fixed with the patch and actually became worse, among other things they've released (like a tac cam with infinite zoom for example), while Bioware still promises patches that will potentially fix things in...an undetermined amount of time (likely months down the road). And this comes as a surprise to who exactly ? Certainly not me.
Yes the Cheat Engine Banter fix works beautifully, perhaps too well if you leave it on - they never shut up, even if that means repeats happen. Tac cam fixed by using the unlimited zoom. Skyhold PJ's gone, replaced with current armor. Infinite crafting mats (once you have the amount needed once.) Infinite shop supply, even on buyback, so you can use it to dupe materials if you need them and don't want to grind for them. (please read how to do that before using that feature of the full table.) God Mode for that one fight you just can't get through but, don't want to blow the nightmare achievement, etc...
Now this is how an EA game should be - mods galore, play it your way and, make it work the way you think it should work. Thank you modders and those that tell us about the good ones here. ![]()
I like CE because you can choose what "cheats" to activate, so if it gets patched in the future, simply don't activate the cheat that affects whatever is fixed and, you still get to keep what you need for what isn't fixed or, isn't to your liking. Just read up on CE a bit before using it, learn to use the tool w/o messing things up. (like having infinite crafting on and turning in research items - OOPS LOL)
