I was having problems with banter too, but then I found this thread and it helped a lot.

I find that playing with a timer helps me a lot. Sorry if someone already posted this.

I think if you run the game for 4-6 hours, banter and other sounds, shut off randomly. I have seen this with all of my DA games on the PS3 and PS4 for DAI. It is annoying but simply saving, shutting the game off, and restarting resolves my issue.
I left the game since March and it's sad to see that I still need to use cheatengine for a consistent experience. Banter is one of the best features in the game and sets it apart from other AAA RPGs like TES, Fallout, Witcher, etc.

Party banter does not "set apart" or make DAI better than Witcher. They are both high quality games.
witcher-3-vs-DAI-which-takes-throne?
For me Party Banter triggers often when a random fight as I'm exploring ends.

I mean he intended that you can't find party banter elsewhere, and he's right. The quality of others rpgs don't matter here.
Not sure if the community managers are checking this thread, but maybe this will help some folk still experiencing the banter bug:
I ran into the party banter bug during the previous three playthroughs. During approximately 200 hours of gameplay, I heard perhaps twenty instances of party banter. Banter triggered only in the relatively 'empty' areas of Hinterlands, Hissing Wastes, and Exalted Plains. Somewhere on the EA forums I have a video posted of my party standing in Hissing Wastes for two hours -- banter triggered twice or thrice in that time period, which was almost more banter than I had heard during the entire game at that time.
At the time, I was running the game on a store-bought A8-5500 APU machine with integrated graphics. My FPS maxed out at about 24 during exploration and bottomed out at about 15 during combat.
At the time, I theorized that some instances of the banter bug were caused either by the banter script being tied to fps, or by script lag blocking banter from firing due to fps dropping beloe 30. There seemed no other common link between banter firing or failing other than the amount of stuff on screen and the resulting amount of stress on the system.
Last week I finally got a dedicated graphics card (same system, just with a graphics card plugged in) that allowed me to get an average of 40FPS with near-maximum settings during combat or while at the Crossroads/Redcliff. In the past eighteen hours, I have heard about ten instances of banter plus lots of environmental comments. Until I capped FPS at 40, I was also occasionally getting animation glitches when my FPS would spike to over 60 -- sparring soldiers in Haven desyncing from one another and such. I will probably cap FPS at 30 to see if that fixes the occasional actor getting stuck by sinking a few inches through the ground.
As far as I can tell, parts of the Frostbyte engine are tied to FPS. Can't go into specifics, since I never worked with the thing. Skyrim scripts would either stop working under any sort of system lag or would behave unpredictably, often as not resulting in inevitable CTDs and sometimes in save game corruption. Probably the banter system scripts also start to break down under lag.
So a possible solution might be to either downgrade graphics settings, or to get a graphics card that can run the game at desired settings. I didn't downgrade because I like the pretty graphics, but for folk who swing the other way this might be a solution.

Not sure if the community managers are checking this thread, but *snip*
They are not.
im doing a timer suggestion. so its meant to be every 15 mins. its not 25 mins on my timer and still no banter. i had a couple of short fights but nothing that took more than a few mins. >__> no bug my arse.
The banter timer is complex. There is the actual trigger timer and it is a range between 600 and 900 seconds, there are also 2 or 3 other timers that do other things that work off the same clock that range from 10 to 300 seconds. The actual banter timer sits in a queue until the other timers cycle through and then count down what ever 600-900 seconds it chose.
Now, you may or not hear a banter, it is dependent on where you are, some areas are no banter zones. You can also have a situation where you have heard all the banter for your current group in that particular area in which case, when the timer fires, you hear nothing.
I'm a noob at this but I downloaded the patch 8 table for cheat engine for triggered banter. I connect it with DAI but after pressing the trigger still nothing happens. However I've noticed that pressing the toggle results in a I guess sort of rejection noise. THe same noise occurs when I try to check the box of the trigger or toggle, not allowing me to do so. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

I believe the cheat engine is not compatible with this patch, likely they will release a new one at some point
The banter trigger for CE has not been updated for patch 9 yet, give it a day or two.

There now. Nu Titan has updated his post: http://forum.bioware...-tools/page-171
I haven't tried it yet.
.
I've already updated my table before he posted his, it should work since mine does.
I just heard the most funny banter between Sera and Iron Bull yesterday, where she asks why she cannot join the Qun (actual it is just Bulls reaction to the question) ![]()
Anyone know if Nu Titan is still around/will update his party banter trigger thing? Cuz I've started a new game and the bloody Hinterlands are even worse than usual if you've had two hours of complete silence. ![]()

I really hope so because since the patch I have no banter in my game anymore even though it's supposedly fixed.
The patch came out only yesterday so I'm going to wait patiently and hope that he'll update!
Hello everyone
I have played this game to death when it came out, for more than 200 houres i had a great time lost of good music and my party was having lots of good banter.
Then i waited for all the dlc so i could go true the game again and have the same great experience as before with the added dlc
WRONG..... now i have very little to no music no combat music at all while exploring and my party remains silent all the time...
There is something wrong here i am 100% sure of that u cant tell me its working as intent because i played the game when it was working as intended.
Please test some more and fix this because it takes a lot out off a otherwise great game sound and specially combat music and banter are very important to the atmosphere of the game.
Does anyone know if a cheat table for banter for patch 11 will be made?
The patch 10 table still works fine for me. Patch 11 and all DLC installed here.
(EDIT: The banter trigger bit. I don't use the cheats)
