Now I'm not supposed to say this, but I'm actually best friends with the sandwich guy that delivers to the BioWare studios. Now he said that it's totally official that there'll be a harder difficulty. Apparently, what happens is you open the door to the first zone and 4 Templar Shadows leap out and shank the party. There you have it folks, super official like.
Not necessarily difficulty level related but would be cool to have different faction fighting each other with players in the mix. Bioware couldn't do it with ME3MP, so I wonder if it is possible with DAMP?
That would be freaking cool.
As neat as extra difficulties are, I'd really like to see some maps pop up that have more meaningful objectives. Assaulting a keep would be a lot of fun. Merge the random areas with a bit of player choice. Give us some options on how we want to assault the keep and then randomly generate the respective choices. Maybe one run you choose to scale the walls and fight your way down. Turns out that the enemy forces were concentrated on the gate and it's a relatively path across the walls and down into the interior of the keep. The next time around, you think "Well ****, that worked great last time, lets do it again!". So up you go, scaling the walls only to find that one of their high level commanders is on the wall rallying the soldiers and what was a relatively easy fight last time has turned into a desperate battle atop the walls.
... that said, my idea sounds far more complicated, so I'd wager we'll see a harder difficulty long before we see something like what I proposed. Either way, it'll be cool to see where MP goes with future DLC.
