That's impossible. You can't play a Dalish mage in Origins.
I think he's referring to a mod that allows that. Though how that interacts with the Keep I couldn't begin to guess.

Well, my Kieran is a dark magic spawn, he might even be a mage which would send him straight into the circle instead of onto the throne. So for my Kieran it matters not and he's better off with Morrigan (they can stay away forever for all I care)
Logic dictates that Kieran is only a Cousland if his father was a Cousland, otherwise he could be an Amell, Aeducan, Surana, or a Mahariel.

Kieran is a CLB
Let's all take in the fact that Morrigan has some strong genes!!! Not only does Kieran not look a bit like my Cousland, but he didn't even get the skin tone of a mixed baby *super sad face* Like damn....Whatever Flemeth is, them chromosomes are OP af!!!

I still only barely see the resemblance to Morrigan, though. He has her skin tone, and that's about it.
He resemble a Cousland he looks like Oren but of course if you make a warden Cousland way to different from their parents is not Kieran fault.
Kieran is a CLB
Which mean?
In my main Origins playthrough, I really just wanted to save my Cousland Warden and Alistair so they could reign together, get married, be happy, and all that, so poor Kieran was just, like, collateral damage, really. SO NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS IS EVER, EVER, EVER GOING TO HAPPEN (I feel like such a terrible person right now, BUT I HOPE HE NEVER DARES TRY TO STEAL THE THRONE FROM ANY BABY THEIRINS MY WARDEN MAY HAVE WITH ALISTAIR BY NOW).
Poor Kieran.
That's ridiculous Headcanon, your warden will never have any heir and will probably die soon enough for the calling.
Which mean
Yeah, Kieran resembles a Cousland, not Morrigan.

Also, technically, I suppose he would be a bastard. Not sure how inheritance laws in Thedas works so, it's hard to say whether he would even be entitled to the family name.

I know bastards aren't supposed to be able to inherit the throne, since conversation in the Gnawed Noble Tavern on the subject includes the phrases "ill precedent" and "better that the throne should pass to the Mac Tir line." Though that doesn't necessarily mean much for how mere noble titles can pass.
As for the last name, Alistair gets to use Theirin if he becomes king... though in that situation the rules are kinda being ignored. I'm not sure if we know whether or not he gets to use that name if he doesn't become king.

I think that in DA4 if king Alistair reign will end.
I think Bioware painted themselves into a corner and had no ways to resolve this design issue.
Kieran in 20 years.
