The customization of the keep is a joke!

I was really looking forward to replaying the game and customizing the keeps and maybe camps/other fortresses too. 

 

In Haven you can't do anything! How much more fun if had been able to have quests/resources to choose different types of siege defense weapons, walls, assign types of soldiers, etc.  

 

Now on to skyhold, I thought finally, maybe this will be fun.  The garden or chantry option looked IDENTICAL and neither really served a purpose. The tiny fighting pit or little house in the back for the infirmary. And finally that tower in the back corner that is identical but inside either has a few genertic mages or templars.  Such a joke!   Why not let us have options for the tavern, change types of defenses and actually have an attack on the keep. The keep could have been much more interactive and fun.  What was the point of the resource camps when after those minor pathetic 3 options, resources camps aren't used for anything else?  

 

Then the other keeps and fortresses we take over, could have really had some fun if we had to build those up to or rebuild the towns, etc.  And depending on those choices in the end game would speak of how they had fallen or thrived, or fought off raids, etc? 

 

The keep also was partially fixed up.  Had no control over when and how things were fixed up, but when it happened automatically, why were so many rooms in the keep still destroyed, the hallway to the war room still torn up, etc?   

 

The tavern, in my play through had a stupid dwarf barkeeper who didn't even want to be there.  No option to pick who the barkeep is.  No option to ask the bard which song to play or sing.
