I've just had a thought. What if Sandal's prophecy in DA2 was actually about Solas?

"One day the magic will come back, all of it. Everyone will be just like they were, the shadows will part and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see."

So we know that Solas is the Dread Wolf, considered an Elven god. We also know that he too had not long awoken from his slumber, which is why he couldn't use the orb as he was still too weak, so he stupidly gave it to corypheus who then misused it for his own means. I've been going through Solas' convo branches and he seems really into the idea of the Fade and the real world merging as one so that spirits/demons can come and go as they please etc. What if that's what Solas had planned to do with the orb originally? After all, we know it was a key that opens and closes the Fade.

Perhaps this is what Solas' prophecy was predicting. Whether or not it comes true, or would have come true had Corypheus and our Inquisitor not come into the mix remains to be seen.

Your thoughts?

But if you play a Dalish romancing him, he says you change everything...

We thought the same on the Solas thread.

It's certainly a possibility. Solas, as of now, seems to be the only possible candidate for the "he" of Sandal's prophecy.

There's also a crack in the veil which may mean more people could be born mages?

Solas if you give dwarves the option to be mages in the next game you will be my bro forever and ever.

Exactly why I said that Sandal's Prophecy may have just been something that could've come to pass had it not been for Corypheus and/or the Inquisitor.

That being said, even if the Inquisitor romanced him that doesn't mean he suddenly wouldn't want the Fade and the real world to merge into one, dating someone doesn't automatically mean your wants, desires, and fundamental beliefs have to change with it. He may just not act on them... or maybe he will. Perhaps the Inquisitor will get a say in it... or maybe not if you drank from the fountain and are now Mythal's minion. There are a lot of potential factors to take into account, if this theory is even correct.

I was hoping the ending would show Corypheus soundly defeat the Inquisition. Then, as Corypheus starts to gloat, we hear "Enchantment?" and time slows down as Corypheus flashes brightly and there is the sound of an atomic explosion. Cue credits. Do I hear GOTY?

He's supposed to be working for Empress Celene... Dagna replaced him as the protagonist's Enchanter in this game, which is a shame.

Dagna is a great character if players have her as the Arcanist in their DA World Lore. A bit mad scientist like but still great character.

Imaging what both Dagna and Sandal can achieve if they put their skills together which I hope Bioware aims for considering her personailty as the 2nd greatest Dwarf Enchanter in Thedas ( Number 1 is Sandal of course)

That end scene with Solas and Flemeth made my mouth hit the floor.

It's possible, but I recall reading that it was just a random thing thrown it to 'creep people out'. I'd like to give Bioware a lot more credit, but they've tended to be a bit shortsighted with the Dragon Age franchise, so I doubt it has any legitimate pay off.

I'm fairly sure she has the only reference to Sandal too, something along the lines of "I'm not THAT crazy" when talking about enchantment.

His prophecy does come true. It's the entire thing of inquisition.

"One day the magic will come back, all of it" means either the orb, which is an obvious extremely powerful object of such power that the dread wolf needed it to open so badly he trusted another party all together to unlock it instead of waiting for his own power to unlock it, that or Cory's magic itself, blight included.

"Everyone will be just like they were, the shadows will part and the skies will open wide!" is the breach's creation. You are just like you are, only with some type of magical add-on scar on your hand, and the sky was ripped in half. You and the inquisition were the only people that acted like it actually existed in the first place, everyone else went on their original plans and like.

"When he rises, everyone will see" Is about the ending. Cory lifts an entire section of land, into the air, and all eyes of thedas were upon you in those moments as you strike him down. Hell, a few people at the ending party even say that 'everyone saw what you did there, killing a magister.' I think either sera or leliana say that, from peasant to high lords and kings, everyone watched and is now talking about your victory.

My theory is that the elven gods are simply elves who, back in the days when there was no Veil, invited a spirit to fuse with them.  Cole says in a banter that Solas is both spirit and mortal, and even questions why he would want a woman, to which Solas replies that once a spirit comes into the world they take on the feelings of the body they're in and asks Cole if he has not felt the same since he came down from the Fade.

Since DAO we've seen this spirit/mortal melding with mixed results -- Wynne, Uldred, and in DA2 there is Anders/Justice/Vengeance.  Are the ones gone bad because of the Veil, or because of the mortal host?  Even so, a good meld was probably rare, and that's why there are so few Creators.  I think the Forgotten Ones are the melds gone bad -- they turned into beings of, according to the codex, disease, terror, spite, and malevolence.

Solas' views on Elvhenan are incredibly scathing (romanced Vallaslin dialogue among others), so perhaps these magister-spirit-gods even forced other elves to do it, and the bad melds were cast out, "Forgotten".  But remember, Fen'Harel is the god of rebellion, as we find out at the Well, so we are seeing it through his emotions.  Perhaps the young elf who took in the spirit of rebellion was even named Solas at one time.  Perhaps he was originally the spirit of contentment and he just went bad the way Anders/Justice/Vengeance  and Mythal/Justice/Vengeance did.

I believe that Sandal is the elven god June, the god of crafts, and when the Veil was created, perhaps by Fen'Harel, perhaps by someone else, he lost all connection to the Fade and became Tranquil.  He mentions that he hears an old woman's voice, and most of us associate that with Flemeth.  Why wouldn't Mythal try to contact June?  Sandal is probably even an elven name.

Somebody is trying to bring down the Veil so that the Creators can return.  Yes, Corypheus was trying to do that, but I think it was an accident and not what Sandal was talking about.  What we don't know is if Fen'Harel is trying to encourage the Veil coming down, stop it, or find a different solution to the trapped Creator problem.  I would lean toward Fen'Harel as trying to leave the Veil intact, but that's probably just personal bias.   :)

I think solas likes the veil exisiting. He just wanted to walk into the fade physically.
